Sugar is a neo-noir detective series on Apple TV+ starring Colin Farrell as John Sugar, a private investigator who is on an intense, action-packed journey to find Olivia Cromwell, a 25-year-old woman from a powerful Hollywood Seigel family. The family is headed by Jonathan Seigel, Olivia's father, and consists of renowned actors and producers. During the investigation, John uncovers dark secrets about the Seigel family and connects them to a major crime network.
The show premiered in April 2024, and for the next season, it has greenlit another actor, Better Call Saul fame, Tony Dalton, as a series regular. Here is what we know so far.
A Better Call Saul villain has joined Apple TV+’s Sugar Season 2

In the Colin Farrell starter show, Tony Dalton will be seen as a lieutenant in the Sheriff's department, Los Angeles County. Tony is an American and Mexican actor known for his role as Lalo Salamanca in Better Call Saul. He is portrayed as a major villain and a high-ranking member of the Salamanca drug cartel, being the nephew of Hector Salamanca.
Lalo was introduced in season 4, episode "Coushatta" of Better Call Saul and is shown to outwit people and turn the deal his way with his dangerous charms. He played a significant role in the conflict between Salamanca and Gus Fring.
Officially, there isn't any substantial information available about the character's role, however, his casting suggests he could either be an ally or an antagonist to Colin Farrell's character.
Who are the other cast members of Sugar Season 2?
The show also greenlit two more popular actors, Jin Ha, who will play the role of a boxer, prone to invite trouble for herself, and Laura Donnelly, a strong-willed woman, immune to John Sugar's charms and wits.
Even previously, the show cast some Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul alumni like Dennis Boutsikari. Dennis played the role of the lawyer Rick Schweikart in Better Call Saul and will be seen as Bernie Seigel in Sugar Season 2.
Tony has also appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe miniseries Hawkeye as Jack Duquesne in 2021 and can be seen again reprising his role in Daredevil: Born Again. Other than that, the actor has worked in Mexican films, web shows, and stage plays during most of his career, with his first role in Rebelde (2004–2006), a Mexican TV series.
