The classic Clueless movie to getting a sequel series with Silverstone
Following the popularity of the 1995 movie, a series was launched in 1996, which saw the return of Stacey Dash, Donald Faison, and Elisa Donovan, who reprised their characters from the movie.
Since Silverstone and Paul Rudd's careers took a hit after the movie, they were unable to return to the project, and Rachel Blanchard was cast in the role of Cher Horowitz instead. However, Silverstone's absence deeply affected the popularity of its predecessor, and the show ran for only three seasons till 1999.
In 2020, there were talks of a Clueless series, focusing on the character of Dionne "Dee" Davenport, Cher's best friend from the classic movie. The series would follow Dionne's search for Cher after she goes missing. However, that idea was scrapped later, as it raised many fan questions about Cher's character.
Finally, as per Deadline, the sequel series is happening with the OG star Silverstone. The actress is inseparable from the iconic character, and fans would surely love to see her on the small screen again.
After Clueless, Silverstone's career took a hit, and she starred in many movies, including The Babysitter, Batman & Robin, Scorched, Love's Labour's Lost, and many more.
