Reality TV has once again changed the game as TLC's hit show 90 Day Fiancé premiered its eleventh season on Sunday, February 16, 2025. The series, which follows international couples navigating the K-1 visa process, introduced viewers to its first-ever throuple this season.

Among the fresh faces were Stevi from Mississippi and Mahdi from Iran, Mark from New Hampshire and Mina from France, plus returning couples Shekinah and Sarper, Shawn and Alliya, and Jessica and Juan.

But it was San Diego residents Matt and Amani Jlassi who stole the spotlight with their unique situation: contemplating divorce after a decade of marriage to legally bring their girlfriend, Any Aguirre from Mexico, to the United States.

Meanwhile, Stevi faced the challenging task of revealing her engagement to her patriotic father, and Shekinah and Sarper navigated the stress of a visa interview that could make or break their relationship.

90 Day Fiancé debuts its first throuple with Matt, Amani and their girlfriend

The 90 Day Fiancé premiere kicked off by introducing viewers to Matt and Amani Jlassi, a couple who've been married for ten years and live in California with their two daughters. Their relationship took an unexpected turn when they fell in love with Any Aguirre, a mother of three from Mexico. Matt explained about his wife before revealing their newer connection with Any:

"I fell in love with Amani because I've never had someone that could balance me, somebody that is truly there for me."

Amani opened up about how she met Matt in college and developed feelings for him long before Any entered their lives. She also admitted to having an attraction to women, something Matt initially struggled with but eventually accepted.

After nearly a year of long-distance romance with Any, the couple faced a major obstacle: being already legally married meant they couldn't sponsor Any for a K-1 visa. Their solution? Get divorced so that one of them could apply for the visa to bring Any to America.

This revelation shocked their friends, who expressed concerns about the serious step the couple was considering. This episode of 90 Day Fiancé left viewers wondering if Matt and Amani would follow through with their divorce plans for the sake of their relationship with Any.

Meanwhile, returning couple Shekinah and Sarper prepared for a crucial visa interview in Turkey. Shekinah voiced her worries about their future, especially since she had to frequently return to the U.S. for her teenage daughter in boarding school. Shekinah confessed, highlighting the uncertainty in their relationship:

"Sarper has definitely tried to get me to stay in Turkey all the way up until today because he has a lot of reservations about moving to the U.S."

Sarper's solemn demeanor before the interview and his decision to keep his parents in the dark about his potential move added another layer of complexity to their story.

This episode of 90 Day Fiancé also introduced Stevi, an English teacher from Mississippi who connected with her Iranian student Mahdi during online classes. What began as teacher-student conversations on social media blossomed into romance, leading to their meeting in Turkey and a proposal after just one week together.

Despite waiting a year for visa approval, Stevi still hadn't told her father about Mahdi. Given Mahdi's Iranian heritage and Stevi's father's strong patriotic beliefs, the tension in the episode increased as she feared his reaction to her engagement.

As they worked on a car in the latter moments of the premiere, Stevi finally confided in her father, but his first response left viewers wondering how their relationship was going.

Fans will be watching season 11 to see if Sarper's visa is granted, if Matt and Amani truly go through with their divorce, and how Stevi's father feels about her engagement in the end. This season is expected to have a lot of the relationship drama and cultural conflicts that have made 90 Day Fiancé a must-watch, even if these storylines are only beginning.

90 Day Fiancé airs Sundays at 8 PM ET on TLC.
