ABC's 9-1-1 Season 8 will finally return with Part 2 on March 6, 2025. The show was on a hiatus after releasing episode 8 in November 2024, but will finally return with new weekly episodes.

Season 8 Part 1 was a whirlwind for the first responders, who answered many intense calls while also reeling with personal losses. While the 118 got their Captain Bobby back, Tommy broke up with Buck, leaving him heartbroken.

Season 8 ended with a cliffhanger, with Eddie deciding to move to Texas to be with his son. While his decision seemed serious, his move might mean Eddie will no longer be a part of the 118. Part 2 will finally reveal if Eddie will move to Texas.

Here is everything that happened in 9-1-1 Season 8 Part 1.

Buck reels from his breakup in 9-1-1 Season 8

9-1-1 followed a completely different path for Buck by making him realise that he is bisexual, when he gets attracted to Tommy in season 7. He thought that this was jealousy because Tommy was getting close to his best friend, Eddie. He soon realizes that he is attracted to him.

Season 8 saw Buck exploring this attraction as he continued his relationship with Tommy. But during one of their conversations, Buck discovers that Tommy was Abby's fiancee who left her all those years ago. Tommy even recalls that after their breakup, Abby dated a young himbo, not realising that it was Buck.

Buck is taken aback after the discovery, considering he was hung up on Abby for quite some time. When he later reveals his history with Abby, Tommy realizes that he is not ready to date him and needs to explore his sexuality before starting something and breaks up with him. Buck is heartbroken and puts all his energy into baking to cope with the breakup.

Brad motivates Eddie in 9-1-1 Season 8

9-1-1 Season 8 had an interesting character addition in Brad, the lead hero of Hotshots, who gets impressed with Bobby. Bobby finally returns to the 118 and sends Gerrard on the film set, but Brad still likes the Captain best.

He shadows Bobby and the 118 while they answer calls to gain some real experience for his movie and ends up convincing a man not to take his life, which made him a hero in everybody's eyes.

While Brad shined there, he may have motivated Eddie to leave the 118 and settle with Christopher in Texas. He reveals how he got away from his son when he moved to the US from England. He asks Eddie not to repeat his mistakes as he regrets his decision now.

Eddie contemplates moving to Texas in 9-1-1 Season 8

Eddie was struggling after Christopher moved to Texas with his grandparents. While the physical distance was a real pain, season 8 showed how Chris is starting to move on with his life without his father.

Eddie was feeling a disconnect with his son, who was not responding enthusiastically to his video calls. Brad's story finally tips him off, and he decides to move to Texas to live close to his son.

The 9-1-1 Season 8 midseason finale's final moments saw Buck showing up at Eddie's door as he was about to call Tommy. While contemplating his decision and looking for houses in Texas, Buck comes to his house and learns about his big move.

Already reeling from a breakup, Buck is sad about Eddie moving away as he will not have his best friend now. But he still understands his need to be with his son and promises to help him find a house there.

Season 8 Part 2 will finally reveal what became of Eddie's decision and whether he will leave the 118 for Chris.
