9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 15 recap: A 118 member bid goodbye to the team forever

9-1-1 Season 8, Episode 15 was a very emotional ride for the 118 and the audience alike. The concluding episode of the two-part event saw all of the 118 stuck inside a lab with a deadly virus, and Chimney was exposed.

Throughout 9-1-1 Season 8, Episode 15, suspense loomed large over whether Athena would be able to fetch the antidote in time and save Chimney. And in the final moments of the show, Chimney is finally injected with the antidote.

But the 118 bid goodbye to another member of the team in the most shocking twist of the procedural to date. After the team is evacuated, Bobby reveals that his oxygen pipe had a hole, because of which he was exposed to the virus.

Since there was only one antidote, Bobby sacrificed himself for Chimney, and he bled to death and died in the final moments of the episode.

9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 15 recap: Athena and Buck got the antidote from Moira

In 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 15, time was running out on Chimney, and the FBI was already involved. As Bobby requested, Athena backed off from the crime scene and began her search for Moira and the antidote.

Since she knew that if the FBI or the Army got their hands on the antidote before her, they would never give it to Chimney, Athena and Buck had to move fast. Athena, Buck, and Karen suspected that Moira would attempt to sell the antidote to a large pharmaceutical company, and they were correct.

But the company's director had already called 911, so Buck called Tommy to airlift them with the antidote. However, the army eventually caught on to them, but Athena had already reached the lab with Karen. Tommy's helicopter was just a ruse to throw off the army and the FBI.

Athena suits up and delivers the antidote to Bobby, and Hen injects Chimney with it, and the team is rescued from the lab.

9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 15 recap: Bobby sacrificed himself for his team

Just when it looked like everything was back to normal and all the 118 were rescued from the lab in 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 15, Buck learns a hard truth.

After the evacuation, Bobby locks himself again in the lab and asks Buck to take care of himself. When Buck asks him, he reveals that he saw a hole in his oxygen pipe a few hours back, and he has been exposed to the virus. Since there was only one antidote, and Chimney needed it, he did not tell anybody about his condition.

Buck calls Athena down, and Bobby shares the final moments of his life with his wife. While Athena could not believe that Bobby was exposed to the virus, he tells her that his repentance is finally complete. He was happy to make this sacrifice for his team and asks for forgiveness from Athena. In an emotional moment, he says,

“LA was supposed to be my penance, not my home. And then you said yes to a dinner invitation and I started to live again. I love you, baby.”

With these final words, Bobby goes into his prayer position and silently dies, while Athena and Buck helplessly cry.
