Amazon Prime Video’s fantasy series, The Rings of Power, brought several new and old Tolkein characters from Middle-earth, enticing The Lord of the Rings fans once again.
The show revolves around the second age of Middle-earth, where we get to see the creation of the rings of power and Sauron becoming the ultimate evil. Characters like Galadriel, Elrond, and Sauron are introduced in the show, set long before the events of The Lord of the Rings.
Other than known characters, the show also introduced characters not written by J.R.R. Tolkien, such as Elanor Brandyfoot, played by Markella Kavenagh.
While Elanor’s character was created for the show, viewers can’t shake off the feeling of her similarity with Frodo Baggins. Although there isn’t a proper explanation given as to whether she has some connection with Frodo, fans believe that Elanor might be Frodo’s ancestor.
In this article, we have listed 7 reasons why Elanor is believed to be Frodo’s ancestor in The Rings of Power.

7) Elanor is a hobbit

Just like Frodo, Elanor or Nori is also a hobbit in The Rings of Power. However, she is a Harfoot Hobbit, while Frodo is primarily Fallohide. But Shire had a mix of all three types of hobbits, making it difficult to find a pureblooded hobbit.
Frodo’s family had a strong Fallohide strain, but since Hobbits are often intermixed in the Shire, there can still be a chance that Nori might be an ancestor of Frodo from thousands of years before he was born.
6) Elanor and Frodo are curious and adventurous

There is no denying that even though Frodo loved his community, he was always curious about things beyond the Shire, which might have led to him being a part of a great quest in the third age of Middle-earth.
Similarly, Nori craves adventure that might take her to wandering places she hasn’t seen yet. Moreover, her inquisitive nature takes her places to seek answers to questions that no one in her community might have asked yet. In season 1 of The Rings of Power, her finding the wizard who fell from the sky happens due to her curious nature.
5) Their love for their community

Like Frodo in The Lord of the Rings, Nori Brandyfoot in The Rings of Power loves her community. She has a wandering nature because of her desire to find a safe place for her community, which has always been moving.
Frodo has a similar personality. He loved the people of Shire and his friends.
4) Their compassionate nature
Another similarity between Frodo and Nori from The Rings of Power is their compassionate nature. In The Lord of the Rings, Frodo cares about Gollum and is empathetic toward him throughout the movie. One of the reasons Gollum guided their journey to Mordor was Frodo’s behavior toward him. Frodo was one of the only people who were compassionate toward him in a long time.
Similarly, Nori helps the Stranger without knowing anything about him in Season 1 of The Rings of Power. Her compassion toward people who are strangers to her is similar to Frodo’s helping nature.
3) Their connection with Gandalf
Another important factor that makes them similar is their connection to Gandalf. As we have seen in The Hobbit movies, Gandalf seeks out Bilbo Baggins for the adventure, not the other way around.
Similarly, in Season 1 of The Rings of Power, the stranger, who we now know is a wizard, literally falls from the sky and is later helped by Nori.
2) Their connection to great powers
Frodo didn’t seek the greatest power or any kind of power, but destiny chose him, and he became the ring bearer in The Lord of the Rings, who is given the most important task of destroying the ring.
Nori in The Rings of Power also wants to look out for her family and community but is pushed to a destiny that might take her to unseen places due to the stranger’s presence.
1) Frodo and Nori's impact on Middle-earth

Frodo Baggins, the most important member of the Fellowship of the Ring in The Lord of the Rings, had a huge responsibility. His destruction of the ring was the primary task in bringing peace to Middle-earth in the third age.
As we have seen in Season 2 of The Rings of Power, Nori has started her ultimate journey with the Stranger, which means she will also play an important part in the second age of Middle-earth.
