Being the leader of Peaky Blinders, Cillian Murphy's Tommy Shelby had a lot of enemies in the BBC crime drama series, but none stood a chance against the ruthless leader.

Tommy's relentless pursuit of success and limitless ambition differentiated him from his many enemies, and even the fiercest antagonists feared him in the show.

Here are 5 moments when Tommy proved he is a fearful man to his enemies in Peaky Blinders.

5 Tommy Shelby moments that prove even his fiercest enemies fear him in Peaky Blinders

1) When Tommy took Michael out in Peaky Blinders

While Polly's son Michael had all the makings of becoming the next Tommy Shelby in Peaky Blinders, there can only be one king on the throne. In Season 6, Michael not only vows to avenge Polly's death but also wishes to take control of the Shelby business.

However, Tommy proves that even a calculating person like Michael does not stand a chance against him. While Michael plans to take Tommy out by planting a bomb in his car, he is already two steps ahead of him and instead kills him.

2) When he decoded the truth behind his tuberculoma in Peaky Blinders Season 6

While Tommy Shelby seldom had weak moments, the Season 6 finale was difficult for the gang leader, who was plagued by visions of his own death after being diagnosed with tuberculoma.

However, thanks to Tommy's visions and his presence of mind, even in that difficult moment, he decoded his false diagnosis. In the Season 6 finale, Tommy discovers that his doctor is in cahoots with his political rival, Oswald Mosley, and has given a false diagnosis to throw him off. Tommy confronts him with a gun and delivers this powerful line, proving he is invincible:

''The only person who could kill Thomas Shelby is Thomas Shelby himself''

3) When he shot Alfie Solomons

Alfie Solomons was easily the most dangerous antagonist in Peaky Blinders, and Tommy Shelby even had a strange camaraderie with him. They both started out as allies, but Alfie eventually betrays Tommy, driving a wedge between the two.

While the two had a complicated relationship throughout the series, Tommy finally shoots Alfie after his betrayal that almost led to Arthur's death at the hands of Luca Changretta. This brutal scene in the Season 4 finale proves that nobody stands a chance against Tommy.

4) When Tommy showed Inspector Campbell his rightful place

Throughout Seasons 1 and 2, Inspector Campbell thinks of himself as the good guy who is trying to take out the Shelbys and abide by the law. While Campbell is also morally corrupt and harbors a personal vendetta against Tommy, he considers himself superior.

In Season 2 Episode 6, Campbell mocks Tommy by saying that at least he is a religious man, unlike the Shelby. Tommy says this, immediately showing the antagonist his rightful place and threatening him:

"Today tt will be me dead or you. But whoever it is, he’ll wake up in hell tomorrow."

5) When he threatened an Economic League associate in Peaky Blinders Season 3

The Economic League, aka Section D, was one of the fiercest organizations introduced in Peaky Blinders, which had ties to the anarchist movement and resorted to extreme measures like kidnapping and murder to fulfill their mission.

In Season 3, Episode 3, Tommy went to prison to interrogate a Section D associate who was not complying with his wishes. Despite the organization having such a bad reputation, Tommy threatened its associate by taking out his pocket watch (which showed 11:43) and saying this:

"If you make the wrong choice, you won't see 11:44."
