This is where Sylvia Hoeks began her journey. In this touching story about unrequited love, Hoeks plays a young cinema worker.
Bob (Gene Bervoets) is a socially awkward film critic from the Netherlands. He finds himself infatuated with a woman (Sylvia Hoeks) who works at the popcorn counter of his favorite cinema. Bob is shy and that holds him back from making a move on her. He wants to win her over, so he decides to invite her to his apartment.

Virgil also works with a mechanic named Robert (Jim Sturgess), who helps him fix old machines. But, much to Virgil’s surprise, Claire and Robert trick him into giving away his priceless art collection.
Virgil is left heartbroken and betrayed as he realizes that Claire is not who he thought she was. The Best Offer is a story about love, trust, and how easily one can be fooled in love.
