A Good Girl's Guide to Murder quickly harbored a fandom after its chilling yet gripping storyline originally based on Holly Jackson's books Good Girl, Bad Blood. While the show's renewal remains unconfirmed by BBC and Netflix, there are a few things we could expect to see in season 2 of the show.

Since its release on August 1, 2024, and with such a positive response, fans have pondered over the possibility of a new season. Speaking to Radio Times, Jackson expressed her delight should streamers decide to adopt the remaining two books followed by the prequel, Kill Joy. While talking about the potential for another season of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, Jackson fondly stated,

“I think it would just be so cool to make all of it.”

She continued,

“Hopefully if the readers translate into viewers, we’ll have numbers and we can do it. We would love it.”

Here are 5 spoilers from Holly Jackson's book Good Girl, Bad Blood (A Good Girl's Guide to Murder)

1) The potential storyline for season 2 of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder from the books

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder season 1 revolves around 17-year-old Pip Fitz-Amobi, wanting to solve a 5-year-old murder case that cost the lives of two people: Salil 'Sal' Singh and his girlfriend Andie Bell. The duo navigates some pretty choppy waters before finally solving the case and proving Sal's innocence.

However, whether or not the producers would stick to the plot from the books or add unscripted scenes for the alleged upcoming seasons remains unconfirmed. Nevertheless, since the genre is crime drama, the storyline is mostly going to be similar to the first season with of course a different plot twist.

What we can expect is a blend of mystery, drama, action, romance, and a dark side order of death. Since Pip did bring up Sherlock, will she meet Moriarty in the next season? Only time will tell.

2) Whose mystery is Pip solving this time around?

Jackson's next installment features the peculiar disappearance of 23-year-old Jamie Reynolds, the potential ethos of season 2 of the show. The role of Reynolds is yet to be cast and will only happen after Netflix's greenlight for a new season.

From the books, Reynolds is reportedly Connor Reynolds' (Season 1) aloof brother who dropped out of college. Furthermore, he's the person closest to Nat De Silva and is said to be secretly in love with her. Whether or not his story will be deeply explored is also a mystery for the moment.

3) What is Pip upto after solving her first big case?

In the trilogy, Pip Fitz-Amobi (Emma Myers) has decided to take a small step back from sleuthing. Thinking the solved murder of Salil Singh was all she'd ever encountered, the teenager moves on to the next chapter of her life: starting a podcast with Ravi Singh (Zain Iqbal).

The true-crime podcast discusses the events from her previous mystery in great detail. She supposedly discusses her thoughts with each unexpected turn, followed by Ravi's role in enabling her to catch the killer.

4) Reprising the roles of Sherlock and Watson

With Reynolds missing and the police remaining mum with investigating, she decides to pursue the role of Sherlock once more with Watson (Ravi) by her side. The two would go on to uncover the possibly grotesque and dark secrets of the place they called home.

There is still plenty of room for what could lie ahead in Pip's journey. Perhaps the writers could explore a bit more into the 17-year-olds past or even dive a little bit into Ravi's past too! Nonetheless, per Augustman, the show has already shown great promise with its foreshadowing skills.

5) The Duct Tape Killer (DTK)

The famed and dreaded Duct Tape Killer (DTK) from Jackson's book was subtly mentioned in the first season of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder. When she mentioned him, Pip and her friends were deep in conversation about some scary fables. In the books, DTK is mentioned in the third installment, making it rather interesting for fans to speculate about what to expect.

This potential hint could perhaps indicate a probable cliffhanger with the entrance of DTK for season 3 (should it exist). Nothing is set in stone despite the plot being a blueprint for fans. What haunting ordeal would Pip be facing next? That is a story for another time. In the meantime, catch up to what happened in the show's first season.

Season 1 of this classic teen crime drama received praise worldwide for its storyline. The show featured Pippa (Emma Myers) wanting to investigate a case gone cold, the murder of Andie Bell and Sal, for her EPQ.

Before Pippa's intervention, authorities concluded that it was Bell's boyfriend, Sal, who first killed her and then himself out of guilt. With everyone convinced of the murder, Pippa decides to uncover the truth.

Building a clue board throughout and encountering several chilling obstacles, she marches forth no matter what. However, she's not alone on this journey: she teamed up with Sal's brother Ravi Singh (Zain Iqbal) to prove the departed's innocence in the matter.

Not only do the duo realize who truly killed Sal and prove the aforementioned's innocence, but they also come across a twisted truth concerning Bell's disappearance. On their journey playing Sherlock and Watson, the duo also end up getting close together romantically, a happy ending for all.
