Severance has officially become the biggest show to ever come out of Apple TV+. With the recent conclusion of the second season of Severance, it is fair to say that the show's popularity will only increase with time.

For such a layered and nuanced show as Severance, it's virtually impossible to conclude all the concurrent storylines and tropes with a single finale. Consequently, the sophomore season of Severance might have come to an end on Apple TV+, but several questions remain. Questions that might have strong narrative potential for a third season of the show.

What are the 5 major questions that Severance season 3 should answer?

Keep reading to learn more about the five essential questions that we feel the third season of the Apple TV+ show should answer.

1) What happens to Mr. Milchik?

Trammel Tillman's Mr. Milchik had one of the most noteworthy character arcs in the show's second season. He began, as usual, as Mr. Cobel's most trusted henchman. However, he was soon seen wavering in his resolve at times, and therefore, his loyalty to Lumon was questioned. Eventually, he settled back on his previous moorings and was designated as the manager of the severed floor, but we can't help but wonder whether he would ever rise up against his employers.

2) Will Irving return?

John Turturro's Irving was fired by the management at Lumon in the second season of Severance. In order to make his separation from the MDR permanent, his outie was banished from the corporation and was deported on a train by Burt. There is no confirmation whether he shall ever return again, leaving the door open for speculation and expectation.

3) What's the matter with the goat?

We haven't forgotten about Peggy the Goat from the second season's final episode. It was revealed that Lumon has a Mammalians Nurturable department, whose sole preoccupation is to raise sacrificial goats. However, we can't help but wonder if the idea of having goats on the severed floor hints at a more sinister scheme of things on Lumon's part.

4) What about Mark's reintegration?

The idea of Mark reintegrating his innie and outie selves was persistent throughout the second season. However, as the difficult process entails several uncertainties, we are left to wonder about the identity of a fully reintegrated Mark. For instance, there's no guarantee that reintegration wouldn't cause his innie and outie selves to contend with each other in a bid for total dominance.

5) What about Helena's obsession with Mark?

Mark is drawn to Helly, the innie, and he, in turn, is pursued by Helena, the outie. Mark and Helena accidentally ended up having sex during the ORTBO outing during the Apple TV+ show's second season. This leaves a prominent storyline that could be taken up in the third season of the show and is rife with possibility.
