Mitchell "Mitch" Pritchett is the most rational and least dramatic character on Modern Family. However, his subtly awkward personality often makes him appear as the funniest person in the room, without even trying. Mitch, portrayed by Jesse Tyler Ferguson, is a lawyer by profession and lives with his partner Cameron Tucker (played by Eric Stonestreet) and their adopted daughter Lily (played by Aubrey Frances Anderson-Emmons).

Mitch is excited about his new job at the Centre for Justice, which is headed by Wendy, played by Aisha Tyler, who is his old college friend. While she appears friendly at first, Mitch begins to notice a few things that raise doubts about her true nature. He starts to believe that she is, in fact, a horrible boss who takes gratification in reprimanding her employees.

But Mitch is way over his head as he realizes that he was wrong. From mistaking her request to groom her dog to finding a note saying 'run' in his office, he learns that everything is just a chain of misunderstandings. He feels bad about his outburst and apologizes to her.

4) Martial arts gone wrong - Winner Winner Turkey Dinner

Season 9 - Episode 7

Mitch decides to practice some martial arts moves with his old nunchucks. His poor skills result in him breaking the window and damaging the furniture in his house. Wanting to hide his embarrassment, he lies about having fought off a home invader. When he is praised for his act, he basks in the glory.

It's Thanksgiving, and the family has gathered at Jay Pritchett's (played by Ed O'Neill) house, where everyone is showcasing their achievements, including Mitch, who recounts his imaginary burglary that he thwarted. But as one lie after another is revealed, Mitch's truth is exposed to the family.

3) A wannabe artist - Summer Lovin'

Mitch is going through a career slump and is filling his days with random hobbies. He decides to indulge in painting. While he believes he is improving, others fail to see it. He takes his artist hobby too seriously, even donning a straw hat. When a bee stings his ear, he starts drawing parallels to the famous painter Vincent van Gogh.

While everyone can see Mitch is spiraling, they choose to keep their opinions to themselves. It is only when he and Alex create a painting and he compares the result that Mitch realizes he is not very good. After a meaningful conversation with his father, Jay, he confesses that he needs to get back to work.

2) Getting revenge on the court artist – A Sketchy Area

Mitch is excited about his new case as a DA, which he hopes to win. However, things don't go according to plan when he gets distracted by a courtroom sketch artist, Jonah (played by Dan Levy). Mitch is shocked to see the artwork on television. When Cam arrives at the court, Jonah does the same again.

When they ask him why he draws them like that, Jonah reveals that they insulted him while he was renting the room upstairs in their house. Seeing that they can't do anything about it, Cam decides to find dirt on him. At the end of the court, Cam shares his findings with Mitch, who uses animated gestures and court terminology to ensure Jonah draws them according to his wishes.

1) Spider-Man at work – Halloween

At Mitch's new office, when two of his colleagues tell him that they will be dressing up for Halloween, he decides to do the same. He arrives in his car dressed as Spider-Man. He quickly learns that no one else has dressed up, except him and the other two colleagues, who are being mocked for doing so.

He goes to the bathroom to take off his costume. While he is hiding, the janitor takes his shirt and leaves. One thing leads to another, and he finds himself climbing through the window to get to his car. Mitch had managed to go unnoticed so far, but his luck runs out when, by mistake, he sets off his car alarm and the whole office watches him through the windows.

Modern Family is a critically acclaimed comedy series that aired on ABC for 11 seasons from 2009 to 2020. The show was created by Christopher Lloyd and Steven Levitan.
