The first season of Daredevil: Born Again came to an end with Wilson Fisk's rising control over New York. Although supposed to be a street-level story with a realistic depiction of the city's murky underworld, Daredevil: Born Again is replete with potential that calls for the intervention of other MCU heroes.

Here we take a look at five such Marvel characters that might be called into action in the upcoming second season of Daredevil: Born Again to join forces with Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock.

Here's everything that we know.

Which are the 5 fan favorite MCU characters that might appear on Daredevil: Born Again season 2?

Keep reading to learn more.

1) Hawkeye

Clint Barton is no stranger to Wilson Fisk's Kingpin. The arrow-shooting hero had previously beaten the Track Suit Mafia in New York, which was discreetly funded by Fisk himself. Now, as Fisk's grasp over the city seems to be on the rise, Hawkeye would make a perfect companion to Matt Murdock as the two can team up their significant powers against one of the most dangerous villains in the MCU.

2) Captain America

Sam Wilson's Captain America clearly has his work cut out for him. The next few years in the ongoing phase of the MCU will most probably see the Captain revamping the Avengers and battling it out against the sinister forces led by Doctor Doom. Daredevil might nevertheless figure in this scheme of things if the Captain happens to help him out in his quest to neutralize the Kingpin.

3) Moon Knight

Both Moon Knight and Daredevil share a lot of similarities when it comes to their powers and the way in which the two characters wield them. This is further accentuated by the speculations fueled by the conclusion of Daredevil: Born Again's debut season, which encourages the idea of Daredevil assembling a street-level vigilante team of his own to prevail over the city's underworld.

4) Ms. Marvel

The Disney+ show had an unmissable reference to Yusef Khan, Kamala Khan, i.e., Ms. Marvel's father. When Yusef speaks to Murdock about his daughter, he is unaware that the latter is indeed the Daredevil himself. It would be fascinating to watch Ms. Marvel teaming up with Daredevil, as both of them are active in New York and Jersey City, respectively.

5) Jessica Jones

Fans of the original Daredevil on Netflix are keen to have Disney+ bring back Jessica Jones alongside Matt Murdock. Both of them share a remarkable chemistry together and have, in the past, taken down several foes that posed significant challenges.

Dario Scardapane speaks about the Disney+ show's second season

Showrunner Dario Scardapane was recently asked in an Entertainment Weekly interview about the possibility of bringing back such characters as Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Danny Rand for the Disney+ show's second season. He replied:

"Without giving too much away...when you're working in what I would call the Hell's Kitchen corner of the MCU, those iconic characters are always in your mind. The thing is that — and this is kind of hard, I'm trying to thread a needle here — you want to bring in people and relationships and past figures in Matt's life because they help the story, particularly in terms of a story where Fisk has taken over the city. And there is a resistance and a rebellion, so to speak, rising. So there's going to be people, vigilantes, superheroes that are involved in that. There has to be because this is happening to their city."

Daredevil: Born Again is exclusively available on Disney+.
