Lily Collins' hit Netflix series Emily in Paris has now completed its fourth season, with Emily Cooper given the opportunity to handle the new Agence Grateau in Rome. In the last episode, Cooper almost changed her Instagram to @EmilyinRome but stopped, leaving fans curious about her choice.

Similar to previous seasons, Emily and Gabriel's situationship didn't end, even when she chose Marcello in Emily in Paris Season 4. The two have liked each other since Emily came to Paris, and have never gotten into a long-standing relationship.

However, Gabriel isn't the only annoying figure in Emily in Paris, as season four ended featuring a few more characters whose absence in Emily in Paris Season 5 might create fewer problems. Read more to delve into five characters from the Netflix series who shouldn't appear in the next installment.

Emily in Paris Season 4 welcomed Eugenio Franceschini as the new guy Marcello Muratori for Emily Cooper after she called it quits with Chef Gabriel. The show also added other guest stars including Thalia Besson, Rupert Everett, Anna Galiena, and Raoul Bova.

Emily in Paris Season 5 is expected to show if Gabriel succeeded in winning back Emily, or if she's fallen hard for Marcello, her Italian sweetheart.

However, some characters can be dropped for season 5, and here's the list of them:

1) Camille

Played by Camille Razat, Camille is becoming annoying with each season. She began as an independent and ambitious woman in season 1, but later transforms into a stereotype and selfish woman.

As seen in season 4, Camille's relationship with Sofia ends, and she continues to fake her pregnancy to keep Gabriel. Though Camille revealed the truth afterward, she's partially involved in Emily and Gabriel's relationship.

Additionally, the series creator Darren Star expressed uncertainty about Camille's future in Emily in Paris Season 5. He told Glamour that:

"I don’t know how much we’ll be seeing Camille in season five... I don’t know what’s going to happen with her in season five."

The creator talks about Camille's final decision to adopt a child and start from the beginning. However, since her story isn't developed yet, dropping her after season 4 might be good for the character.

2) Gabriel

While many fans want Emily and Gabriel to be the final couple, their situationship is complicating things. He's always involved in a love triangle, whether it's between him, Emily and Marcello, or Camille in the past.

Lucas Bravo's character is gradually losing freshness, as he's always confused about his feelings. Though Gabriel loves her, Emily in Paris Season 4 saw him giving less attention to Emily, leading to their breakup.

Emily seems to have moved on from Gabriel and so should the show as a whole in Season 5. Her new relationship with Marcello is liked by fans, and they can be the end-game.

3) Genevieve

Thalia Besson joined the hit Netflix series in the latest and fourth season, and her character Genevieve doesn't seem to hold much influence in the story. She's introduced as Laurent's daughter, and Sylvie gives her a job at Agence Grateau.

Genevieve does not have a story of her own, and her involvement in the show was to explore more about Sylvie's past. She's annoying and wants to outshine Emily at the agency. Darren Star also talked about Genevieve in the same interview and said:

"What has she [Genevieve] done, really? Aside from flirting with Gabriel who Emily isn’t with, she hasn’t been so bad."

She wanted to pursue a relationship with Gabriel and even lied to Emily. However, all her efforts were wasted in the end when Gabriel clarified that he doesn't like her.

4) Alfie

One of the past love interests of Emily, Alfie shouldn't appear in the next season. He's got a new girlfriend and is doing good at work, implying that his story has finally come to an end.

He's too loyal to survive among other characters of Emily in Paris, as the titular character herself is struggling to make a final decision in her love life. Alfie appeared briefly in season 4 part 2, and abandoning the character might be the best conclusion for him.

5) Nicolas

Nicolas de Léon is Mindy's toxic boyfriend. He doesn't deserve to have her after ruining Mindy's dream to win the Eurovision completion, only because he's struggling to become JVMA's CEO. He's always relying on his father and barely makes a good decision for the company.

Additionally, JVMA isn't a good organisation and might create problems for Marcello's company if he decides to sell it to JVMA. So, before Nicolas created any more problems, it was better not to feature him anymore. Mindy, who is already in love with her bandmate Benoît, just needs to realize that.
