Among the highly acclaimed and fan-favorite medical dramas is Freddie Highmore's The Good Doctor. The TV series first aired in 2017, and since then it has introduced fans to some of the most beloved and even disliked characters through the seven seasons.

Usually, the most disliked characters in TV series are the main foes, but in The Good Doctor, there are several characters whom fans didn't seem to like much and we'll be exploring them today in this article.

1) Dr. Matt Coyle (Eric Winter)

Dr. Matt Coyle played by Eric Winter has entered the list among the five most disliked characters of The Good Doctor. Before getting fired from his position at the St. Bonaventure Hospital, Dr. Coyle worked as an Attending Physician.

Introduced in the first season, Dr. Matt Coyle was appointed to train young supervisors, but instead, he physically harassed the subordinates by touching them without consent. However, none of his subordinates spoke up as they feared they would be blamed for the entire situation.

However, when Dr. Claire Browne was appointed with Dr. Coyle, she understood his intentions and was troubled by him. Eventually, Dr. Matt Coyle's true colors were revealed after Dr. Browne stood up for herself and the hospital fired him from the job.

2) Dr. Jackson Han (Daniel Dae Kim)

Actor Daniel Dae Kim, whom fans recently saw playing Firelord Ozai in Netflix's Avatar: The Last Airbender, also played a notable yet disliked character in The Good Doctor season 2.

Despite being a skilled Chief of Surgery at the hospital, Dr. Jackson Han's behavior toward protagonist Dr. Shuan Murphy upset many fans. He knew about Shaun's autism and believed that someone like him should not be holding a great position.

The staff members tried to convince Dr. Han about Shaun's capabilities and excellence but he demoted him. Following Dr. Han's decision, Shaun experienced emotional pain as he was treated unfairly. However, after a board meeting, Dr. Jackson Han gets fired and the young Dr. Shaun is back to his job.

3) Dr. Marcus Andrews (Hill Harper)

The next character on the list is Dr. Marcus Andrews who tells Shaun Murphy, "Very few things that are worthwhile in life come without a cost, Shaun", while he was the one who initially opposed Shaun's hiring in the hospital just because he's autistic. He's one of the most clever and manipulative doctors in the medical drama, whose main aim is to hold maximum power.

Marcus's actions and wrong acts often put him in hot water but he always found a way out. He also fired Dr. Han over his hurtful actions against Dr. Shaun, but little did Dr. Andrews know his downfall was on its way.

4) Dr. Morgan Reznick (Fiona Gubelmann)

Fiona Gubelmann's Morgan Reznick may be disliked by many in the beginning, all thanks to her arrogant and sometimes mean behavior. However, she undeniably had the most intriguing character development in The Good Doctor.

When Dr. Morgan Reznick joined St. Bonaventure Hospital, she was extremely mean and mutative with other doctors and her colleagues. Reznick often wished to take everyone's credit and become popular.

However, as she realizes her mistakes and wrongdoings, Reznick tries hard to become more compassionate and kind to her patients and hospital staff.

5) Salen Morrison (Rachel Bay Jones)

Rachel Bay Jones was cast as Salen Morrison in The Good Doctor season 5 as the hospital's owner. Soon after taking the lead, Morrison began prioritizing profit over patients, which is the easiest thing a character can do to alienate fans in a medical drama.

Salen Morrison demonstrated a lack of empathy for a hospital owner throughout the season and made the experts at St. Bonaventure Hospital uncomfortable on multiple occasions. From reducing essential supplies to unjustly firing hospital staff, Morrison did it all which led to her ultimate downfall.
