There is no doubt that Episode 1 of Wednesday is one of the best episodes. It sets the tone for the whole season and creates the ambience that makes the series even more interesting. The episode starts with Wednesday attending her normie school, Nancy Raegan High School, where she frets about the twisted idea of putting hundreds of adolescents in underfunded schools. As Wednesday is allergic to colors, she is dressed in black and white, unlike the other students of the school.

All of a sudden, she finds out that her brother is being bullied by some students. She helps her brother out and finds out about the students that bullied him. She decides to take revenge on them. Her way of revenge is way different than any adolescent school student might think. She puts several piranhas in the swimming pool and almost kills the students that hurt her brother. For this, she is removed from her school and admitted to Nevermore Academy. At Nevermore, her roommate becomes Enid Sinclair. Enid’s personality is completely different from Wednesday's.

As Wednesday thinks of ways to run away from this school, several incidents happen. She almost gets squashed by a statue, is forced to take therapy sessions, and almost gets killed by a student. Though she initially thought of running away from the new school, these incidents piqued her interest. All of this happens in one single episode; no wonder episode 1 is one of the best episodes of Wednesday.

In Episode 2, after Wednesday witnesses the death of her classmate at the hands of an animal, she is questioned by the sheriff. The sheriff initially doubts that one of the students was responsible for the attack, but it was not accepted by Principal Weems. As Wednesday describes the incident to the sheriff, she asks whether she can talk to him alone.

She tells the sheriff that someone is trying to cover up Rowan’s murder as the crime scene was cleaned. Right when Wednesday and the sheriff are discussing the crime, Rowan walks in. This completely changes all of Wednesday’s claims, as the victim of the murder seemed to be completely fine. This episode also has the legendary Poe Cup, the competition that has been going on at Nevermore for more than a hundred years.

Though initially, Wednesday was not a part of the competition, but when one of the members of Eind’s team fell sick, she joined the team. When Wednesday goes to the forest with Tyler, she finds Rowan’s glasses, proving that Rowan was killed and that there had been a cover-up. During the Poe Cup, despite Bianca trying to sabotage their boat, Wednesday’s team won. To hide from the sheriff, Wednesday quickly goes inside one of the refrigerators where the bodies are kept, pretending to be a dead body. Later, she comes to her room and tells Enid about the monster and how the monster has been collecting body parts of its victims as trophies. Xavier’s attitude seemed curious, so Wednesday went to investigate Xavier’s art studio, where she found pictures of the Hyde. In this episode, we also see the very interesting ball that is held at Nevermore Academy.

Though Wednesday initially decided to search for the Hyde at the cave with Eugene, she got stuck when Thing sent an invite to Tyler to be her dance partner. In this episode, we also get to see the iconic dance of Wednesday wearing the dress that she wanted to buy.

Though Morticia refuses to take part in the therapy session, Gomez wants to do whatever might help their daughter. As the Addams family visits the therapist together, they are asked about how it feels to have Wednesday away from home. Wednesday’s brother replies that he missed her and missed being waterboarded.

Wednesday interrupts by asking her father about the murder. When Wednesday was having lunch with her parents at school, the sheriff arrived and arrested Gomez Addams for the murder of Garret Gates. As Wednesday asks her father for the truth, Gomez tells her the truth about Garret. However, Wednesday understood that her father did not kill Garret. So she asked her mother for the truth. After learning about Tyler’s truth, she returned to the school, where Principal Weems informed her that she was going to be expelled from the school. She then goes and helps Xavier to escape, but he refuses her help. The next day, when Wednesday packs to leave, Enid assures her about the school’s safety.

However, before she left, she went to visit Eugene, and he told her about the red boots, which made everything clear about the truth.
