Shark Tank mentor Robert Herjavec attended fellow Shark Jane Lu's The Lazy CEO podcast episode, which aired on November 5, 2025. During the episode, they asked each other about their arrival as immigrants, hardships, making a name for themselves, and starting their businesses from scratch.

During one of the segments featured on Robert Herjavec: "We Lived in a Friend's Basement for 18 Months," episode, the Shark Tank mentor asked Jane Lu about her first purchase after she made money for the first time.

"Okay. Oh my God. So bad. I bought myself a massage chair because my friend, my friend was trying to sell...Yeah. My friend had, he bought a $5,000 massage chair and he worked investment banking and he was like, I don't use it. I'm going to sell for $500. It's like, I'll take it," Jane Lu answered.

While answering Robert's question about her first purchase, Jane Lu said she bought a massage chair from her friend.

However, she also revealed other issues after purchasing the massage chair.

"So it was the part that this size of this podcast room and the massage chair is like the size of that large chair. In order to get it into level six of the apartment, they had to like find an extension cord, reconfigure it in the lift. So it fits in the lift and then reconfigure it again to get to wedge it through," shared Jane Lu.

She also recalled a scene from the popular sitcom FRIENDS, where a similar scene features cast members getting a sofa through the stairs and facing similar difficulties.

"You know, the FRIENDS "pivot" "pivot", they had to turn it off and on to change the setting and the configuration so that it would fit. That was my first thing," she added.

The Lazy CEO podcast host also mentioned purchasing a Jeep Wrangler for herself. She then asked the same question to Robert Herjavec.

"I bought a Rolex," revealed Robert.

Shark Tank investor added that it was not an "expensive" Rolex. Recalling the story behind his first purchase, Robert stated that he used to tell his former employer that when he would "make it," he would buy a Rolex.

Hence, with his first earnings, Robert purchased a Rolex, which he later on revealed he gave to one of his employees.

"So I bought the Rolex. I had it for 10 years and then I gave it to one of my employees who still has it to this day," said Robert.

After all the talk about an expensive "wristwatch," Jane Lu recalled how she had been thinking about getting a cardio watch. Their discussion continued further on the podcast.
