Kevin O'Leary is known for his role on Shark Tank, but he is also an avid watch collector. Often sharing about some unique and quirky pieces, Kevin takes to his Instagram with Teddy Baldassarre to reveal his interests.

In a recent video, he talked about his daily watch-wearing habits. It revealed how his interest and deep appreciation of horology is beyond a mere hobby.

Explaining his approach towards the same, O'Leary said that it is rooted in diversity and frequent rotation of the pieces. Instead of wearing a single watch throughout the day, he instead chooses multiple to wear at different times. Talking about the same, he said,

"Think about watch collecting, you want to go into your vault and say, 'What am I going to wear today?' Now, I'm at the point now I'm wearing up to four different pieces a day. So, I want real diversity. I know that sounds crazy."

Shark Tank investor Kevin O'Leary discusses his watch-collecting passion

Shark Tank's Kevin O'Leary regularly shares about his favorite pieces on Instagram. However this time, he talked about himself as a collector of the timepieces.

When Kevin reveals that he wears up to 4 pieces a day, Teddy calls him a "madman." The investor was amused by the remark and acknowledged it by saying,

"I know. But I do, I do this. So I wear one in the morning and switch at lunch and then late afternoon I switch maybe when I go on my bike ride into a sports piece and then at night, I really want a statement piece."

This approach by Shark Tank investor Kevin highlights the versatility that is offered by luxury watches. He tries to carefully select a piece that would align with his schedule and attire at the moment.

This watch rotation regime suggests, that for collectors, watches are more than something kept close to note time, instead, they are a representation of personal brand and identity.

Apart from the aesthetic appeal of them all, Kevin O'Leary has often talked about how these timepieces could be an excellent financial investment. He believes that a well-curated collection can hold a value that may increase over time.

His love for watches is not limited to just wearing them but also sharing about them through social media platforms.

Talking about various pieces in his posts, Shark Tank's Kevin often shares the importance of understanding the craftsmanship behind each of the pieces. He even highlights the movements and the design elements that set the watches apart.

Previously, he had discovered the Louis Erard Excellence Regulateur Lapis Lazuli. The watch employed Swiss craftsmanship and artisanal dial work. The dial consists of a stone and Kevin acknowledged how difficult that must be.

The challenge with this kind of dialwork is that the cutting and shaping of Lapis Lazuli is not easy. The stone tends to break often. He also addressed the gold flecks that appear on the dial on the deep blue surface of the same.

What sets this Louis Erard watch apart is how it shows time. There are three displays, each for hours, seconds, and minutes. The minute hand is the central one and larger than the rest of them. This detail is taken from precision timekeeping watches.

Shark Tank season 16 episodes drop out every week on ABC at 8 PM Eastern Time on Fridays. Later, they can be streamed via Hulu.
