Shark Tank investor Robert Herjavec in his Why Charlie Munger is My Greatest Mentor! video, aired on December 8, 2024, talked about Charlie Munger. Fans who follow Robert might already know Charlie, as he was one of Robert's mentors.

Recalling Charlie Munger's passing, the Shark Tank mentor shared the fourth lesson of the video, stating: "Life is long. Prepare." Robert expressed how he felt about his age difference with Charlie. He mentioned, recalling how when Charlie was 40, Robert was 10, and how he doesn't remember a "single thing" from when he was 10.

"When I met Charlie, he was in his 90s. Just think about that for a second. In his 90s, he passed away only 34 days before his 100th birthday. Life is long. At the time I was in my 50s feeling really old. I meet Charlie and I realized he's 40 years older than me."

He added:

"You know what, what put in perspective for me? I thought backwards 40 years. I was 10. I don't remember a single thing at 10. Think of the life I've lived in 40 years and he was that much older than me. When you look forward, it doesn't seem long. But when you take that time and look back, it's long."

Shark Tank mentor Robert Herjavec recalled how Charlie Munger was 40 years older than himself

Opening up about the age gap between his mentor Charlie Munger, Shark Tank's Robert Herjavec stated that life is "very short" and "life is long."

"You're never going to be younger than you are right now. In some ways, life is very short and you need to get going. By another way, life is long. You have more time than you think. One of my favorite sayings is "constant, forward, momentum."

Robert shed light on this favorite saying of his and explained how "Constant" was about "one at a time" and "no short bursts of energy." He referred to success as constant.

He also stated that we all do "low things" in our routine, which doesn't mean we are "always" moving forward.

"Sometimes bad s*it happens. You go backwards, but you're always trying to face forward and momentum," stated Shark Tank's mentor.

Further in the segment, Robert discussed how life is "energy" and a "vibe." He discussed his "training binge", starting with an "amazing trainer." He stated that it was to get "lean" and build strength. He praised himself for that and expressed how "great" he looked since starting the training.

Fans must know how Robert always finds something to learn from, even a simple task such as doing a pull-up.

"One of the things I have learned from him is much harder to do a full pull-up or push-up one at a time from a dead stop than doing many in a row. Why? Momentum," shared Robert.

Shark Tank mentor talked more about momentum and how it advances you to the next level, i.e. moving forward.

However, those who "stop" between each pull-up might find it to perform the next pull-up "super hard." He stated that by doing such, the body doesn't carry "momentum", and that's why it happens.

Further, he added how the body carries "no momentum" and is similar to life. He emphasized that momentum can't differentiate "good" from bad and that the latter moves towards "soaking" good habits. Robert concluded that we have more time than we think - Constant, forward, momentum.
