Sheldon, Georgie, and Missy lived together under the same roof, but their relationships with one another were far from uncomplicated. Young Sheldon provides a close-up examination of their childhood, while The Big Bang Theory shows us how those early connections manifested later in life.

Some episodes of The Big Bang Theory provide small but significant peeks into their sibling relationships—occasionally humorous, occasionally poignant, but always truthful. Let us take a glimpse of three main episodes that give further perspective on what we already have information from Young Sheldon.

"The Sibling Realignment" – The Big Bang Theory Season 11, Episode 23

We first see Georgie in The Big Bang Theory in this episode. Sheldon gets back in touch with him just before his wedding to Amy. They have not spoken in a while, and this reunion illustrates the tension between them. Sheldon thinks Georgie was a big shot after he went off to college.

Georgie, however, claims he had to become a man and take care of the family, particularly after their father passed away. This scene reminds us how difficult things were at home when they were kids. The episode also provides some history of why Georgie used to refer to Missy as a "dumb teenager" in Young Sheldon.

He wasn't cruel—he just thought she would do some things wrong, like most teenagers do. We also get a glimpse that Georgie had a lot of responsibility, and Missy's spunky personality provided a different vibe to their relationship.

"The Tam Turbulence" –The Big Bang Theory Season 12, Episode 4

Here, Sheldon speaks about his childhood friend Tam Nguyen and how they grew apart. While the episode is about Tam, it also gives us a tiny glimpse of Sheldon's interaction with Georgie and Missy. Sheldon says that he felt lonely as a kid because he was so smart.

But he also concedes that he learned to interact with people through his brother and sister. We mostly get to see Missy being blunt and Georgie taunting Sheldon, which forces him to break out of his shell in Young Sheldon. In Season 6 of Young Sheldon, we also observe Missy getting frustrated with constantly being compared to Sheldon.

That sentiment reappears in The Big Bang Theory, where we find out she's not included in Sheldon's adult world. This episode gives us a better idea of how their childhood influenced their adult relationships.

"The Pork Chop Indeterminacy" – The Big Bang Theory Season 1, Episode 15

This is the episode where we first see Missy in The Big Bang Theory. She goes to visit Sheldon in Pasadena, and Sheldon's friends—Leonard, Howard, and Raj—start daydreaming about her due to her nature and niceness.

This episode is more about how Sheldon's friends are responding to Missy, yet it also tells us about what her role within the family is. Missy's confidence informs us that although she was brought up with a genius brother, she was still able to hold her own.

Missy normally acts as the middle child of Sheldon and Georgie in Young Sheldon. Over the years, she has struggled with being ignored or misunderstood. But this episode corroborates the notion that her friendly personality enabled her to deal with it and became a large component of who she is.

These three The Big Bang Theory episodes contribute to the tale that we get to see in Young Sheldon. In combination, they tell us how Sheldon, Georgie, and Missy's brother-sister relationship evolved and was transformed over time. It wasn't all easy between them, but it was genuine with periods of ups and downs that made them the people they were.
