Two decades have passed since we have been an audience to Dunder Mifflin's Scranton Branch's chaos and calamities. As one of the most beloved situational comedies of the 2000s, The Office continues to be a favorite for rewatches as we keep going back for the laughs. Memes made on the show have taken lives of their own as well.
Lasting until 2012 with nine seasons and 200 plus episodes, the show was also a breakthrough for most actors' careers. For Steve Carell, it was the project that made him a household name in comedy, and for John Krasinski, it became his big break. As most of the Office stars have gone on to have successful careers, let us glance at their professional lives in 2025.
Steve Carell

Steve Carell went on to have one of the most flourishing careers among The Office's cast. The actor explored more comedic roles- with some iconic ones in the bag. However, his most prominent role post The Office was his voice acting as Gru in the Despicable Me series. Carell voiced the vicious villain-cum-protagonist for four consecutive successful films.
Later on, Carell switched gears and did a lot of drama roles that required little to no comedy. His role in 2014's Foxcatcher earned him a Golden Globe and an Academy Award nomination. More Golden Globe nominations for The Big Short and Battle of the Sexes followed this. He also portrayed the role of David Sheff in the biographical drama that centered on Nic Sheff's addiction. Later on, he worked on Vice, another critically acclaimed film that was huge at the Academy Awards that year.
Currently, he is set to star in Tina Fey's Netflix comedy series The Four Seasons as Nick. He was last seen (or rather heard) as Gru in Despicable Me 4.
Steve Carell is married to Nancy Walls, who also made an appearance on The Office as his real estate agent. They share two kids, Elisabeth and John.
John Krasinski

John Krasinski shone bright as Jim Halpert on The Office, and the actor went on to have quite a successful career after the show. Although he did explore acting, he also steered towards filmmaking, voice acting, writing,g and producing.
Brief Interviews with Hideous Men was Krasinski's directorial debut, as it shot up to positive reviews and premiered at Sundance. Aside from his acting credits, he co-created the iconic show Lip Sync Battle along with Stephen Merchant. In 2018, Krasinski directed and co-wrote A Quiet Place, a post-apocalyptic thriller movie that received widespread appreciation among fans and audiences and went on to have two more sequels. In the first film, John starred alongside his real-life wife, Emily Blunt, and in the second two, he was credited as the director and writer.
Jenna Fischer

Jenna Fischer went on to star in multiple comedy films, including Blades of Glory, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, The Promotion, Hall Pass, and The Giant Mechanical Man, which was directed by her husband, Lee Kirk. Her last acting credit was as Cady Heron's mother in the 2024 movie Mean Girls.
Apart from acting, the Pam Beesley actress has explored a lot of other fields. She and Angela Kinsey are co-hosts for a podcast called Office Ladies, where the duo rewatch The Office episodes and even invite cast and crew members from the show to talk. They are co-writers for the book The Office BFFs: Tales of The Office from Two Best Friends Who Were There.
Fischer has struggled with breast cancer, as she announced in 2024, having been diagnosed with it a year earlier. However, after chemotherapy and radiation, the actress is now cancer-free.
Rainn Wilson

The actor thrived as Dwight Schrute while being a part of the NBC series. Post the show, Wilson voiced Gallaxhar in Monsters vs. Aliens and Gargamel in Smurfs. Apart from that, he has also been a part of the Star Trek films as Harry Mudd.
His film credits include Cooties, The Boy, Blackbird, Shimmer Lake and others. He has also presented Rainn Wilson and the Geography of Bliss for Peacock and a podcast on YouTube called Soul Boom w/ Rainn Wilson.
His last acting credit was Hitpigs! where he voiced Leapin' Lord of the Leotard. He is set to appear next on Urinetown as Caldwell B. Cladwell.
B.J. Novak and Mindy Kaling

Ryan Howard and Kelly Kapoor actually remained great friends in real life! Both the actors went on to lead successful careers.
Novak made his directorial debut with Vengeance, which he co-wrote and starred in. Apart from that, he worked on The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as the villain Alistair Smythe. His success has been beyond the film industry as he has gone on to author books under Penguin and Alfred A. Knopf. Apart from that, he has also developed an app called The List App and created Hulu's The Premise.
Mindy Kaling has flourished as the creator of several hit TV shows, such as The Mindy Project, Never Have I Ever, The Sex Lives of College Girls, and Running Point. She has had voice roles in Despicable Me, Wreck-It Ralph, and Inside Out. Although her filmography has been limited, considering her focus on creating, directing, and producing, she has been a household name in Hollywood, having been given a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame as well.
The Office is available to stream on Netflix.
