Two percent of the world’s population vanishes without explanation, leaving those left behind to pick up the pieces. The show focuses on grief and survival rather than solving the mystery. Kevin Garvey, a small-town cop, and Nora Durst, who lost her family, lead the story as they search for meaning after the event. It’s emotional and unsettling, but its abstract storytelling and heavy themes scare off viewers expecting answers. Those who gave it a chance called it one of the most moving shows ever made.
