Winona Ryder appeared in The One with Rachel’s Big Kiss as Melissa Warburton, Rachel’s college friend. Melissa’s arrival brought out Rachel’s competitive side, especially when she claimed they had shared a kiss during college. Rachel tried to prove her story, but Melissa denied it until she finally admitted she had been in love with Rachel ever since. Ryder played the role with just the right amount of awkwardness and sincerity, making the situation funny without taking it too far. The scene where Melissa kisses Rachel again is over-the-top in the best way and leaves Ross completely speechless.
