Characteristics such as a Ph.D. and an undying love for dinosaurs did not keep "Ross Geller," one of the immaculate people in the Friends series, from suffering when it came to understanding everything and everyone around him. At moments, especially when referring to relationships, he was entirely beyond one's ability to fathom. Ross always provided a comic relief moment or generated cringe, really often due to his awkwardness and misreading of situations throughout the series. Intelligent as he was able to complicate issues further, he could simplify matters and turn them into hilarious calamities due to his low social memory and emotional intelligence.

The misunderstanding related to his relationships, the failure to apprehend the basic societal cues, and proving his improbable actions kept him in his delusional hub. Staying clueless became one of his significant attributes as it frustrated friends while proving to be that much cooler for the audience. This piece will highlight 10 completely unforgettable missed calls by Ross to prove that very intelligent people can be incredibly thick-headed on occasion.

1) Still Thinks “We Were on a Break” Is a Good Argument

Ross's fixation on justifying his "we were on a break" never stops, even though everybody around him, including Rachel, is so tired of it. His constant reminder about this only makes his situation worse, as one can tell he has no idea about the emotional damage his behavior had. Ross rigidly holds to the belief that he was right, altogether ignoring Rachel's emotions. He cannot understand that, in relationships, emotional betrayal usually wins over logical rationalizations, which makes his defense read as completely tone-deaf. Ross's failure to let go of this argument illustrates his cluelessness when it comes to relationships.

2) Missed Every Clue That Rachel Liked Him

Rachel's love for Ross was obvious to everyone except him. As she attempted to demonstrate her affection in subtle ways, Ross was utterly oblivious, never noticing the signs and gestures she sent his way. From her jealousy when he went out with other women to her occasional shyness around him, Rachel's feelings were obvious to all. Still, it was taking Chandler's error for Ross to realize that Rachel had feelings for him, the kind of blinding ignorance the moment shows about him. And even when Chandler tells him so, Ross spends some time absorbing the magnitude of her feelings, once again indicating his cluelessness about romantic cues.

3) Believes He Has “Unagi”—But Doesn’t See Anything Coming

Ross's strange fixation with "Unagi" is just tinged with funnier touches: He says it's a state of sharp being in reality master it. He argues that it enables one to anticipate danger before it happens. But Phoebe and Rachel easily disprove him by sneaking up behind him without being noticed, almost anybody would do that at least a half dozen times. His failed attempt to apply this concept ironically adds to the folly part of it. This moment emphasizes the constant failing of Ross to deal with reality. He invests so much energy into trying to look knowledgeable and self-possessed that he becomes the butt of the joke, revealing just how out of touch he is with reality.

4) Can’t Even Count to Five Properly

One of the funniest, most absurdly simple moments has Ross counting 'Mississippi' while waiting to move furniture. With confidence: One Mississippi, two Mississippi… three… Mississippi, but then he falters and doesn't get around to the rest. The total failure to execute something so simple leaves his friends dumbfounded. It is a funny moment because Ross thinks he's doing it right when, in fact, it's simply another demonstration of Ross's ability to screw up the simplest things because he is oblivious to the obvious. This relatively minor error is a telling reminder that Ross usually complicates things while failing to see the simplest solutions and makes this scene one of the most memorable ones.

5) Says the Wrong Name at His Wedding—And Still Doesn’t Get It

Ross calling Emily by Rachel during his marriage to Emily was an embarrassing blunder that should have halted the wedding ceremony. What could make an already terrible moment worse is that Ross first did not know how serious a mistake he had made. Instead, he plays it off as nothing serious and does not realize how much it has hurt Emily. For Ross, the moment serves to tally the old emotions attached to Rachel, just before everything falls apart in his relationship with Emily. Ross's open incapacity in understanding the gravity of the moment emphasizes his lack of emotional maturity.

6) Thinks Elizabeth’s Dad Wants to Date Him

Invited by the father of his girlfriend, Elizabeth, old Paul (Bruce Willis), welcome dinner invitation, but misinterpretation offers the highest awkwardness. Ross assumes the invitation is for a romantic date dinner instead of understanding that Paul basically wants to discuss his daughter and probably warn him off. That leads to an extremely awkward exchange when Ross does behave strangely to clear things up. Ross fails to read the room or doesn't understand the true intentions of Paul, revealing how clueless he is concerning social interactions. An example, indeed, of how he misunderstands signals from everyone.

7) Believes His Awful British Accent Is Fooling Anyone

And so, when he begins teaching at NYU, Ross tries to take on a fake British accent to seem more sophisticated and intellectual. The problem is, the accent he puts on is so whacked and obnoxious that it's a joke even to Ross himself. All his classmates and friends, though, know of his embarrassing attempts to be "fancy," whereas Ross is entirely convinced of its effectiveness. Once again, Ross's delusion regarding the accent creates much comic relief, as it shows his utter failure to gauge how he may appear to others. Instead of winning respect, he became the butt of the jokes in class.

8) Doesn’t Realize He’s Actually Married to Rachel

Ross and Rachel drunkenly marry after a wild night in Las Vegas, but Ross remains obstinately in denial of the entire affair. When his friends say that he needs an annulment, Ross brushes it off as a mere inconvenience, a technicality. However, the fact still stands: This man is married to Rachel, and Ross's sheer lack of comprehension of what a serious matter this is becomes something of a comedy routine. He hardly comprehends what his actions mean, and to act so cluelessly is sad. This lack of sense of responsibility makes matters even worse-the total denial in which he remains.

9) Walks in on Monica and Chandler—And Still Doesn’t Get It

When Ross interrupts Monica and Chandler in a very compromising position, he is totally oblivious to even the most obvious clues that they are in a relationship. Right from Monica's bedroom wear, to Chandler's surprise, Ross is convinced they are just hanging out. Even when he saw the two of them together privately, he failed to pick up that they were dating. His late revelation is all the more maddening and comical since it goes to show how often Ross chooses to disregard the obvious in favor of whatever interpretation best suits him. Ross's inability to interpret both his surroundings and the obvious clues leads to other seemingly awkward situations. This makes it another of Ross's several clueless rendezvous!

10) Thinks “PIVOT!” Will Solve Everything

Undeniably, this is one of the most iconic and ludicrous moments among Friends that ever entertained; it's just how Ross everyone said PIVOT PIVOT PIVOT while literally hauling a sofa through a constricted staircase. The level of cluelessness he exhibits regarding the physical limits of the task is hallowed by his insistence that the word magically makes the couch fit perfectly into the configuration. Couch has, time and again, gotten stuck, and all that his friends do is keep convincing Ross enough that he would think logically. Ross's self-obsession with "PIVOT" as he powerfully believes in sheer willpower being enough to overcome every obstacle even when it's obviously not working makes it comically evident.
