1)When he saved Hubble

In season 1, episode 1, Reacher and Hubble were arrested and sent to jail. When they went outside in the field of the jail, Reacher assured Hubble that he would not let anyone touch him as he was getting worried. Hubble tells him that he is not a criminal and also tells him that he had no choice but to pretend to be the one who killed.
However, beyond the field, Reacher saw some men discussing while looking at them. He understood that they were going to attack them. His intelligence and understanding of human nature were truly remarkable. He went inside the bathroom, and as he had thought, the men came to attack him and Hubble. However, they were not able to hurt them.
2)When Reacher understood Stevenson was hiding something

In season 1, episode 1, after Reacher was cleared and leaving the station, Finlay tells him that just because Hubble confessed does not mean that he has been cleared. He also tells him that he thinks that Reacher might have information to share even though he does not know whether he is guilty or not. To this Reacher tells him that Stevenson was the one hiding information.
Later, Finlay takes Stevenson to his office. Finlay tells Stevenson that Reacher thought he knew something about Hubble that he was not sharing. What makes Reacher more intelligent than anyone else in the room is his ability to pay close attention to peopleβs behavior. He notices every small detail about someone that sometimes goes unnoticed by others.
3)When he knew that Roscoe was following him

In season 1, episode 2, when Reacher left after Finlay and Roscoe stopped the car, Finlay told Roscoe to follow him and to make sure he did not ruin the case. When Roscoe questioned why she was told to follow him, Finlay told her that Reacher listened to her and told her to shoot him if he did not listen. Roscoe keeps a low profile and started to follow Reacher.
However, Reacher quickly vanishes, and she was not able to find him. All of a sudden, Reacher came in front of her car. He asked her why she was following him. He had a vigilant nature. Even at the times he appeared to be relaxed, he was constantly scanning his surroundings. His intelligent mind made him aware of his surroundings. It made him the smartest one in the room.
4)Reacher knew about Pete Jobling

In season 1, episode 4, Reacher and Roscoe went to see Judy Miller at her house. They inform her that Jobling was dead. However, instead of feeling sad, Judy Miller said that she was expecting that. When Roscoe asks her about it, Judy tells them that she had warned her over and over again, yet he did not listen to her. She tells them about the air conditioners and also that she thought he stole from his employer.
Later, she showed them the boxes that Jobling had in their garage. On their way in the car, Reacher tells Roscoe that Jobling only cared about moving fake cash for Kliner. He adds that the bills were produced in South America, and money was shipped to Florida. Jobling drove down with real air conditioners to keep up appearances and filled the empty boxes with the fake cash.
He also tells her that Jobling took the fake cash to Margrave for distribution and also used to skim some off the top of the boxes for himself. He understood everything about Jobling because of his intelligence, which made him a compelling character in the series.
5)When he knew about Finlay

In season 1, episode 1, after he was going out of the station, Finlay stopped him, he told him that he wanted to know more information from Reacher. When Reacher tells him that he should ask Stevenson and not him, Finlay mocks him for being so confident in his theories.
This makes Reacher tell Finlay that he was confident that Finlay went to Harvard, was recently divorced, and also quit smoking recently. Finlay asked him how he came up with that. Reacher begins to tell that he heard when Baker called him by a name, and Finlayβs appearances showed that he was well educated. He observed every move of Finlay, and mostly all of his assumptions, except his wife, were correct. His intelligence in this scene was truly commendable.
6)Reacherβs knowledge

In season 1, episode 4, Finlay called Reacher for a potential lead into Reacherβs brotherβs rental car. When Reacher arrives at the location, Finlay tells him that a farmer chasing down his pigs found the car. He also says that the car was hidden with brush, but it was washed away because of the rain.
Reacher tells Finlay that Joe would have wanted an SUV for headroom, so the car might be his. Upon investigating the car, Reacher understood that the fire did not start in the engine or the gas tank because the burns were darkest in the center, and then it spread out. To get the VIN, he uses ketchup and salt to clean the metal. His quick thinking to use army tricks and his observation skills made him the smartest one among others.
7)Finding Joeβs clues

In season 1, episode 7, Reacher and Roscoe met with Picard to know about the VIN. Picard tells them about the details and tells them about the motel, 40 miles outside of Margrave. Reacher quickly understands that it was indeed Joeβs car as he used the name Ron Hassey.
When they reached the motel, Roscoe and Reacher asked the counter whether Ron Hassey left any personal items behind. However, the motel clerk says that it was picked up already. Reacher was smart enough to know his brotherβs tricks and he quickly found out the garment bag and found out the list he kept. His sharp wit and intelligence in this scene were truly commendable.
8)Animal feed

In season 1, episode 5, Reacher, Finlay, and Roscoe went to Mosley and found a box that Gray had left for Roscoe. In the box, they found out files that said Kliner had 116 cattle that he bought all at once. Despite Roscoeβs annoyance, he keeps on digging the matter. He knew that something was not right.
He understands that Kliner bought 116 cattle as it was a number just under 120, which would prevent him from being subjected to state inspectors coming on his land to check his operation. Later, in episode 7, Reacher finds that in the car repair store, cat litter was used on the oil spill. He understood that the animal feed was used as it contains diatomaceous earth, which is an absorbent coagulating agent. His capability to understand this whole operation was one of the most interesting moments in the series.
9)Grayβs Box

In season 1, episode 5, as Reacher, Roscoe, and Finlay were discussing Kliner, Reacher suggested going back and investigate more on Joeβs list. He tells Roscoe about Grayβs files. When Roscoe tells him that he did not leave anything behind, Reacher reminds her of the Desert Eagle.
Reacher understood that people thinking about suicide would normally give prized possessions right before they take their lives and not a full year prior. Roscoe shows him the box and Reacher starts to check it. He quickly found out a key in the hidden compartment. His smart thinking made him take decisions that others would not think. This made him the smartest one in the room.
10)Reacher understood the source of the money

In season 1, episode 6, when Reacher went to meet with Professor Castillo, she told him about her collaboration with Joe. She also told Reacher that counterfeiting was a huge problem and Joe was trying to stop it. Joe even made sure that there was only one factory that manufactured the paper.
However, even after all the precautions, counterfeiting was still being done. She then adds that Joe thought the manufacturing of superbills took place somewhere in Georgia. This made Reacher realize that they had it the wrong way around. He understood that they were making money in the U.S. and shipping it to Venezuela.
