The Big Bang Theory is an acclaimed American sitcom that premiered in September 2007. Created by Bill Prady and Chuck Lorre, who is also known for Two and a Half Men, the show revolves around the lives of four nerdy friends and their new neighbor, Penny, played by Kaley Cuoco.
It stars Jim Parsons as Sheldon Cooper, Johny Galecki as Leonard Hofstadter, Kunal Nayyar as Rajesh Koothrappali, and Simon Helberg as Howard Wolowitz. As the show progressed, many new characters joined the main cast.
All of the four friends struggle in social situations. For instance, Jim Parsons' character Sheldon Cooper is a child prodigy and has an IQ of 187. Despite that, Sheldon doesn’t understand social quips and often ends up unintentionally roasting his friends or people all around him.
In this article, we list 10 characters that got roasted by Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory.
10) Leslie Winkle
Another character who witnesses Sheldon’s sarcastic comments is Leslie Winkle. She was one of the rare characters who challenged Sheldon’s intelligence; that’s why he considered her his rival.
There are numerous moments where he passes mean or sarcastic comments toward her, and even Leslie replies back to those comments with something witty.
9) Zack Johnson

Zack was Penny’s on-again, off-again boyfriend and was also roasted by not just Sheldon but the whole group.
In season 4, he tries to have a conversation with the group about science. He tells them that he once saw an episode on Discovery where they said that if you kill a starfish, they still come back to life. Sheldon replied instantly, saying:
"Was the starfish wearing boxer shorts? Because you might have been watching Nickelodeon?"
8) Ramona Nowitzki

In season 2, Sheldon meets a grad student, Ramona Nowitzki, who happens to be a fan of his work. She helps Sheldon by making optimum conditions where he can work peacefully by doing his tasks, like bringing him breakfast and pumicing his foot.
After Sheldon completes his work and finds a solution to his problem, he thanks Ramona and asks what he can do to repay her. She tells him to consider naming his theorem the Cooper-Nowitzki theorem.
Sheldon asks her to get out of his house straight away after that.
7) Bernadette Rostenkowski

Although Bernadette was a savage character on her own, there were moments that Sheldon even got her with his mean, roasting comments.
In season 10, Sheldon compares his skin cells to Bernadette’s baby.
He says:
I have to say, it is nice to share this experience with someone who’s on the same journey. Although right now ours is testing off the charts while yours is floating around in its own waste.
After that, they both get into an argument that Amy had to settle.
6) Amy Farrah Fowler
Sheldon’s girlfriend, Amy, played by Mayim Bialik, whom he eventually marries, also received some mean and condescending comments. In season 8, Amy takes a break from her relationship with Sheldon after his annoying behavior.
Later, in season 9, he forces her to think fast about their relationship. Amy tells him she needs more time, to which Sheldon replies:
“Well, you should think fast, because men can sire offspring their entire lives, but those eggs you’re toting around have a sell-by date.”
5) The Judge in Season 3, Episode 16

In the episode, Sheldon gets a traffic ticket after running a red light. After Penny has an accident, he drives Penny in her car to the emergency room and runs the red light.
In the courtroom, Sheldon greets the judge and says he is appearing in ‘pro se’, further explaining that it means representing himself. The judge says he knows what that means as he went to law school.
Sheldon replies:
“And yet you wound up in traffic court.”
4) Rajesh Koothrappali
Even the socially awkward Raj, played by Kunal Nayyar, couldn’t escape Sheldon Cooper’s mean comments.
In season 3, Howard tries to scare Raj in Caltech’s entomologist, Prof. Crawley’s, lab full of insects. He asks Howard not to do it, as he is scared of insects. Sheldon, without wasting any time, quips:
“Interesting… You’re afraid of insects and women. Ladybugs must render you catatonic.”
3) Penny
Penny receives many condescending comments from Sheldon for her educational background and her jobs throughout the series.
In one of the scenes in Season 4 of The Big Bang Theory, Howard performs a magic trick using a deck of cards. Sheldon doesn’t approve of the silly, childish tricks and asks him to give him the cards. Penny tells him that not knowing about the details is part of the fun of these tricks.
Sheldon, being Sheldon, delivers the most condescending comments to her by saying:
"Not knowing is part of the fun. Was that the motto of your community college?"
2) Howard Wolowitz
Just like Penny, Sheldon also passes mean comments to Simon Helberg’s Howard Wolowitz for not having a PhD. Throughout the 12 seasons of The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon roasted Howard many times.
In one of the scenes in season 5, Howard finally asks why he is always mocking and taunting him. Rather than being sorry for his actions, he takes another jab at him by telling him:
“I never said that you are not good at what you do. It's just that what you do is not worth doing.”
1) Leonard Hofstadter
In The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon’s friends have often been on the receiving end of his savage or mean comments. Johnny Galecki’s Leonard, who was Sheldon’s roommate, had to suffer the most as he spent the most amount of time with Sheldon.
In an instance in Season 1, when Leonard sees Penny for the first time, he tells Sheldon that their children will be beautiful and intelligent. To this, Sheldon quickly shots back that they would also be imaginary.
