Based on the Marvel comics character and created by Drew Goddard, Daredevil is an action-adventure superhero series, which is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Charlie Cox plays the titular role of Matt Murdock, or Daredevil, who is a blind lawyer during the daytime and a masked vigilante fighting against criminals during the night. The show has received positive reviews and is noted for its well-choreographed and technically sound fight scenes. With each season, the show has elevated its action shots, and here are 10 of the best fights of the show.
The hallway fight, the fight against Nobu, and other best fights from the Daredevil show
1. The Church Fight

In season 3, episode 10, Matt Murdockβs struggle with his Catholic faith comes down to a climactic and symbolic end. In season 3, viewers get to see one of the most famous villains of Daredevil in the comics come alive on screen. Bullseye is the protagonistβs arch-nemesis this season, and he is played by Wilson Bethel. The two have a cat-and-mouse chase throughout the entire season, which comes to a head towards the end.
Bullseye and Daredevil have a memorable fight in the Clinton Church. The fight is all the more important as the life of Mattβs friend, Karen Page, played by Deborah Ann Woll, is at stake. The viewers get a cinematic fight as not only does the sequence prove to be action-packed and an ultimate fight between the two, but it is also highly symbolic, with faith playing a major role in Murdockβs character. The fight is tense as Daredevil tries his best to stop Bullseye and his efforts to murder his friend.
2. The Hallway Fight

The first season of Daredevil is iconic for many reasons. One of them is the legendary hallway fight shown in the second episode of the season. It is one of the show's first fights, and its impact on the show is considerable. The scene is technically brilliant as it is a fight scene shot in a long shot.
The Daredevil shows his full strength to the viewers for the first time, taking down a huge bunch of Russian gang members inside a hallway. Each and every punch and kick looks well-choreographed, but it is not flashy. This fight scene helped establish the nature of the superhero and the strength he is capable of.
Towards the end, the sequence is perfectly symbolic when The Man Without Fear slowly walks and takes in all the destruction with a child in his arms.
3. The Prison Escape Fight

As has been noted, season 3 has some of the most intense and thrilling fights. In episode 4, the fights are taken up a notch as Daredevil finds himself trapped in a prison full of aggressive and menacing inmates. Plus, there are corrupt guards at every turn, waiting for Daredevil to make a wrong move and ensure he does not get out. Like the hallway fight of season 1, this fight is shot in one take as well, which is a style of fight sequence that audiences have come to expect from the series.
Further, the action scene is almost ten minutes long, making it one of the most intensive sequences. But as always, the fights in the show are well-choreographed and strategically shot. The superhero is seen as most vulnerable as he often stumbles and tries to claw his way out but never gives up. The scene is gritty as Matt must escape to his freedom while also struggling with injuries and exhaustion. The scene is claustrophobic but stellar.
4. The Stairwell Fight

The show's second season considerably ups the ante on the fight sequences. In the third episode, Matt Murdock, or the Daredevil, is up against the dangerous gang called The Dogs of Hell. The fight is reminiscent of the iconic hallway sequence of season 1, but this time, it is given a more deadly conflict and weapon.
The stairwell is a cramped space, making the fight sequence even more strategic and well-choreographed. It adds verticality as the Daredevil works his way down the stairwell. Viewers see Daredevil fight against the rogues with a gun taped to his hand and a chain in his other hand, battling it out. The fight is strategically shot, and with a moody and dim lighting in the backdrop, the whole scene has a noir atmosphere. The fighting feels fresh, and towards the end, viewers see red flashing lights, which visually elevates the scene.
5. The Nobu Fight

One of the biggest positives of the Daredevil series is that even though it is about superheroes, there is a touch of realism and rawness in all its aspects. The Man Without Fear is up against one of his most strategic and calculating enemies in the first season.
The ninth episode sees the Daredevil fight it out against the Handβs most skilled assassin, Nobu Yoshioka. Up until now, all the fights that Daredevil has been in have always been with rough and unruly gangsters. But in this fight, he must battle it out with a highly skilled warrior who uses martial arts. The stakes are already against Matt as Nobu is more skilled than him and has a deadly weapon known as the Kyoketsu-Shoge.
This fight scene is one of the realistic sequences as even though Matt is the hero, he is dominated by Nobu for most of the fight. Matt struggles in this fight as he is left bloodied and wounded. This scene showcases that Matt is not invincible, making him more humane to the viewers.
6. The Rain Fight

In season 1, episode 1, viewers get a taste of the capabilities of Matt Murdock, also known as the Daredevil. Not only is this fight an introduction for the viewers to the persona of Daredevil, but it is also a startling fight for Daredevil himself as he comes to terms with his own strength.
The scene takes place in a heavy downpour at night, which sets up the scene cinematically. Daredevilβs first fight is with an assassin who has come to Karen Pageβs apartment and is proving to be a big danger. As with all the other fights in the series, this one is well-choreographed and embellished with raw and gritty realism.
The rain is used as an added effect as it enhances the power of every punch and kick. Plus, the water feels more dramatic because the scene is shot in slow motion, so viewers can see each raindrop when a hit is landed. The fight is dramatic and brutal, setting the tone for the show and the Daredevil.
7. The Three-Way Fight

Another great fight from the third season happens in episode 13. The show keeps elevating the fights this season; this time, the action is triple and, therefore, more deadly. The fight is between Daredevil, the Kingpin, and Bullseye. As the final fight of the season, everything comes to a head, and the fight is full of suspense and thrills.
While Bullseye is trying to kill Wilson Fisk and his love, Vanessa, Daredevil is trying to stop him in his evil plans. However, the superhero must also stop Kingpin from fending them both. The fight is comprehensive and has many layers as the viewers get to see all three main characters of the season battle it out against one another.
Each and every swoop, jump, and knock is well-choreographed, and even though the fight is complex, it feels thrilling for the viewers. The fight is regarded as one of the most well-shot fights in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is a fitting end to the season.
8. The Punisherβs Prison Fight

Viewers see one of the most enigmatic superheroes in season 2, the Punisher. Before The Punisher show came out, this fight sequence was a testament to the level of power and ability that the superhero can have. While Daredevil always tries to keep the anti-hero away from killing and destruction, and when the Punisher comes into his own, there is no stopping him.
In episode 9, the Punisher single-handedly takes down an entire prison block. The Punisher may have his weaknesses, but he is in full command in this scene. Compared to the fights that the Daredevil has, the fights of the Punisher are more brutal and bloodier. The scene where Frank goes all out in his fight and gets his white uniform stained with red blood is highly symbolic and well-shot.
The kills in this prison brawl seem like they are out of a slasher film, and the sequence surely got the viewers hyped for the upcoming Punisher series.
9. The Kingpin Fight

As the final fight of the first season, this one holds a special place in the series. The fight builds up slowly as Daredevil battles it out against his arch-nemesis of the season, the Kingpin, played by Vincent DβOnofrio. The intense action sequence is also the first fight in which viewers get to see Daredevil donning his iconic red suit from the comics.
The Kingpin is a menacing character throughout the season, but in this final fight with Daredevil, he showcases his nefarious side, which has not been seen the entire season. At one point, he picks up and throws around Daredevil like he is nothing for him, and that is a testament to the amount of power the Kingpin holds and how vulnerable Daredevil truly is. The scene is not over the top or flashy but keeps the viewers engaged with its strategic fights and realism.
10. The Fight between Daredevil and Elektra versus The Hand

In season 2, episode 8, fans of the comics are in for a treat as the show includes a classic fight where the Marvel comics couple, Daredevil and Elektra, the latter played by Elodie Yung, tackle the nefarious The Hand together. Always seen together in the comics, this fight scene is one of the rare occasions where the couple is brought alive on the screen.
The fights in the comics are always amazing and fans were excited when they got to see the couple on screen, recreating their iconic bond and battling out against the bad guys together.
In the show, the two are seen fighting against the gang known as The Hand. It is a unique fight as most of it is done hand-to-hand, and the angles taken for the scene are incredible and strategic. Not only is the fight an ode to the fans of the comics and the classic couple, but it is also well-shot.
