Amazon Prime Video’s The Rings of Power has been officially renewed for Season 3, which will take us back to the second age of Middle-earth. The events of the fantasy series take place thousands of years before The Lord of The Rings.
Therefore, it introduces us to several new characters while also showing us the early lives of many popular LOTR characters. One such character is Elrond, played by Robert Aramayo in the series. Aramayo’s Elrond is shown as a kind and wise half-elf, just as J.R.R. Tolkien described in his books.
In the book, The Hobbit, Tolkien wrote:
He was as noble and as fair in face as an elf lord, as strong as a warrior, as wise as a wizard, as venerable as a king of dwarves and as kind as summer.
In The Rings of Power, Elrond demonstrates his wisdom while advising friends, his unique friendships, and his combat skills. His fearlessness and righteousness make him one of the most important characters of the show.
In this article, we have listed the 10 best Elrond moments in The Rings of Power, which show us why the future ruler of Rivendell is one of the kindest and wisest half-elves.

10) Elrond lets Durin IV win during the Rite of Sigin-tarag

In Season 1 of The Rings of Power, elven-smith Celebrimbor sends Elrond to Khazad-dum to bring back a forge that can melt mithril.
However, he is denied entry into the dwarven city, which prompts him to challenge his old friend, Durin IV, for the rite of Sigin-tarag where they have to smash rocks using hammers. The one who loses will be exiled from the city.
During the challenge, we see Elrond’s strength in diplomacy and politics as he lets a clearly-frustrated Durin win, and also gains entry into the city by saving his friendship with him.
9) Elrond convinces Durin IV to talk to his father

When Durin IV gets angry at his father, Durin III, for shutting down all mithril mining, Elrond persuades him to treasure the time he has left with his father in The Rings of Power.
Elrond opens up about how he misses his father and would give up anything to be able to talk to him again. He convinces his friend to talk to his father and treasure the time that he has left with him, as he would miss him when he is gone.
8) Elrond makes a proposal to Durin III for Mithril
In an attempt to get more mithril, Elrond suggests to Durin III that they will provide wood and game of Eriador for 500 years in return. Although the Dwarf king declines the offer, his son and Elrond’s friend, Durin IV, take him to the mines.
While looking for the metal, the two share a tender moment in their complex friendship when Durin confesses that he considers Elrond his brother. The scene gives us a glimpse of Elrond’s unique friendship with a dwarf, even though elves and dwarves don’t get along well.
7) He confronts the high king Gil-Galad

In the finale of Season 1 of The Rings of Power, after their plan to get more mithril from Khazad-dum fails, high king Gil-Galad tells Celebrimbor their plans might not work and issues orders that they should return home.
However, the herald tries to convince his king and asks him to give Celebrimbor three months to forge a new creation that could save the elves. Gil-Galad is convinced there is no hope. Elrond reminds Gil-Galad with his own quote that there is always a little hope. He says:
"Hope is never mere, not even when it is meager."
6) Elrond rescues Galadriel from drowning

After revealing his true identity to Galadriel in The Rings of Power, Halbrand/Sauron tries to drown her in the Glanduin River.
However, Elrond arrives at the right time and saves Galadriel. However, she is still trapped in her mind palace, and raises her dagger at Elrond thinking he was Sauron and was trying to trick her. Elrond calmly reminds her of the first time they met, bringing Galadriel back to reality.
5) Elrond leads the team sent to protect Celebrimbor
Galadriel informs Gil-Galad that Celebrimbor might be in danger because of Sauron, and they need to protect him in The Rings of Power. Gil-Galad sends a crew to Eregion to ensure Celebrimbor's safety, choosing Elrond as the leader rather than Galadriel, because her mind had been corrupted by Sauron once.
On their journey to Eregion, they face many challenges including fights with Barrow-wights, where Elrond helps Galadriel when she gets trapped by the snares of the undead.
4) Elrond refuses to give Gil-Galad the three Elven rings

After discovering that Halbrand is Sauron in disguise, Elrond doubts the authenticity of the rings created by Celebrimbor with Halbrand’s assistance.
In The Rings of Power, Elrond refuses to let Gil-Galad use the same and jumps off the cliff. Then, he goes to ship master Cirdan in the Grey Havens to destroy the rings.
3) He tries to negotiate with Adar

During the Siege of Eregion in Season 2 of The Rings of Power, Elrond tries to negotiate with Adar to leave Eregion. However, Adar tells him that he will eventually win, adding that he just wants Galadriel’s ring to defeat Sauron.
Elrond tells Adar that the war would take many of his children’s lives, which doesn’t affect the latter because he is sure his Orcs will defeat the Elven army. However, Elrond’s words draw some of Adar’s Orc children, and Glug begs Adar to retreat, reminding him that he had promised to protect them but they were dying.
2) Elrond helps Galadriel escape from Adar

After their conversation, Elrond asks Adar if he could talk to Galadriel, because this might be their last chance to do so, considering they might die in the war in Season 2 of The Rings of Power.
Adar lets them talk. Elrond apologizes to Galadriel for not being able to save her from Adar, while she asks him to win the battle. Elrond kisses Galadriel goodbye, and slips the brooch from his cloak to her, so that she can escape from the Orcs' camp.
1) He helps heal Galadriel after her fight with Sauron
At the end of Season 2 of The Rings of Power, Galadriel prevents Sauron from laying his hands on the three elven rings by leaping off a cliff. However, she is severely injured after the jump, which had followed her fight with Sauron.
Using his ring Vilya, Elrond helps Gil-Galad heal Galadriel, giving us a glimpse of his healing power that will grow in the future.
