Prime Video’s The Rings of Power revolves around the story of Sauron’s rise as an evil entity and the creation of the rings of power.
The series brought back several characters from the best-selling novels by J. R. R. Tolkien, such as Galadriel, Elrond, and Gil-galad. However, the series also created many non-canonical characters such as Elanor Brandyfoot and Arondir that helped in building a good storyline.
Another non-canonical yet important character from The Rings of Power is Disa, played by Sophia Nomvete. She is the wife of Prince Durin IV and a Dwarven princess. From finding Mithril to recognizing Balrog, Disa’s character was part of several important events in the fantasy series.

10) Disa discovered mithril
In The Rings of Power, Disa is the first character who finds out about the Mithril.
She discovers the metal ore while on a routine operation searching for gold in the mines of Khazad-dum.
9) Disa hides about Durin IV's whereabouts from Elrond and the inquirers
After Disa finds out about Mithril, Durin IV goes to the mines to dig up more of the metal.
As not many people know about the operation, Disa lies to the inquirers sent by Durin III and also Elrond, who was looking for his friend about his whereabouts in The Rings of Power.
8) Sang to the mountains to save the miners
During their mining operation of Mithril in Khazad-dum mines, some miners get trapped as the falling rocks block their paths in The Rings of Power.
In an attempt to save the dwarves, Disa sings a haunting song to plead with the rocks of the mines and the mountains to spare the lives of the dwarven miners.
7) She encouraged Durin to reconcile with Elrond
As Elrond went to Khazad-dum with a proposal for dwarf king Durin III, he was invited by Disa to have dinner with them in The Rings of Power.
During the dinner, Durin IV and Disa shared with the Elf about their first meeting but couldn’t stop arguing with each other until Disa intervened. As Elrond was about to leave after dinner, Disa threw a hard glare in her husband’s direction, which prompted Durin to ask Elrond to stay and discuss the proposal.
6) She urged Durin III and Durin IV to talk to each other
After King Durin III rejected Elrond’s proposal, it affected his relationship with his son Durin IV, who wanted to help the elves in Season 2 of The Rings of Power.
Both the Durins, in their stubbornness, couldn’t understand each other's stand in the conflict and didn’t even talk to each other to try and solve the conflict. It was Disa who talked to both of them on different occasions and urged them to talk to each other and solve their issues.
5) Disa tells Durin IV to tell his father about Celebrimbor’s proposal
Durin IV and Disa are given an offer by Annatar and Celebrimbor that they will forge powerful rings for the dwarves that will help them in surviving from the earthquakes caused by the mountains in exchange for Mithril.
Disa asks Durin IV to talk to his father about this offer, which might help him reconcile with his father.
4) Disa summons the cave bats
After the King is corrupted by the ring given to him by Celebrimbor, as it is influenced by Sauron’s evil powers in The Rings of Power, he orders his people to dig more mithril that he is planning to sell, as the prices will go up during the war.
Disa doesn’t like the idea of digging more in the mountains and plans a rebellion against the king to block him from further digging. She summons the cave bats with her singing to prevent the miners from mining in the Khazad-dum mines.
3) Disa realizes the perils of using the rings of power
The sun shafts collapse due to an earthquake, leaving the Dwarves in a difficult situation in The Rings of Power.
Durin III uses his ring of power, Thrór, to bring back the light after Disa’s mountain singing fails. While the Dwarves are happy, Disa realizes the power the rings hold, which terrifies her.
She realizes that the ring is a cheat and is helping the dwarves in breaking the natural rules to succeed and solve their problems.
2) Disa persuades Durin IV to never wear the ring
After encountering the strong evil powers of the ring that corrupted Durin III, Disa asks her husband, Durin IV, to never wear that ring.
Durin III’s greed to become wealthier by digging more Mithril terrified his son and daughter-in-law, which prompted Durin IV to swear to his wife that he would never don his father’s ring.
1) Disa hears the Balrog
Although the ring gives Durin III the power to see through the mountains, which helps him hoard more and more mithril in The Rings of Power, the greed due to its power makes the king ignore the dangers revolving around it.
It is Disa who discovers the danger that looms on the Dwarf kingdoms, as she is the first one who hears the growling of the Balrog, which eventually takes Durin III’s life.
