Yet another intriguing character in Wednesday, Principal Larissa Weems, of Nevermore Academy is one of a kind. From the moment she enters the screen, her presence grabs the attention of the viewers. She has an authoritarian nature which highlights her mysterious appearance. She has a calm demeanor and does not back down from standing up for her students.

When Larissa Weems helps Wednesday in unveiling the truth about Marylin Thorne, it showcases her responsible nature. She has secrets of her own which adds a layer to the complexity of her nature. We get to know that Morticia Addams was the captain of the fencing team, queen of the Dark Prom, and the President of the Seace Society. Though initially, Bianca seemed antagonistic towards Wednesday, as we see her sabotaging Wednesday’s boat during the Poe Cup or passing remarks about Wednesday, she undergoes considerable character growth throughout the series.

She appears to be a bully but suffers from insecurities and pressure from her mother’s expectations. In episode 4 when we see Bianca sitting alone after her altercation with Xavier, she opens up about herself to Wednesday. She tells her about her inability to know what the other person truly feels about her. Bianca’s vulnerability resonates with the viewers making her one of the best characters of the show.

From the very first episode when we find that Xavier has an impact on the viewers. As Wednesday was leaving the nurse’s office after her fencing fight with Bianca, she was hurt and disappointed. Right when she was out of the building a stone statue was thrown on top of her. However, Xavier’s quick thinking saved Wednesday from the accident. His feelings for Wednesday can be understood from the early moments of the series.

He tries his best to be helpful to Wednesday. During classes, Xavier also tries to impress Wednesday by bringing the spider he drew to life. Their shared connection as an outcast struggling with power resonates with the viewers. Xavier has a complex character that is both charming and dangerous.

We are first introduced to this unique character in the first episode when Thing is told to take care of Wednesday in the new school. Though he tries to be hidden from Wednesday, she is quick to find out. Thing is nonverbal but can convey himself with just gestures even to the viewers. The way he positions himself and expresses his emotions is engaging.

Thing also acts as a way of comic relief in the dark atmosphere of Wednesday. He tries his best to protect Wednesday and be there for her. One of the best moments of Thing is when he brings out the dress Wednesday was eyeing at the store as a surprise in episode 4. He also tells Enid about Wednesday’s birthday and helps her in preparing for a surprise for Wednesday.


8)Eugene Ottinger

This beekeeper is one of the most unique and intriguing characters on Wednesday. Eugene has the power to control bees as we are first introduced to him in episode 2 where he describes the features of bees with utmost interest.

Eugene also played a significant role in helping Wednesday find out the true identity of the Hyde. He even went out alone in the forest at night to find out more about the hyde. Eugene was one of the few genuine friends that Wednesday had. Their connection was valuable and resonated with the viewers.


9)Gomez Addams

Wednesday’s father, Gomez Addams, is one of the most interesting characters in the series. From the first episode, we see Gomez’s genuine love for his daughter and devotion to his wife. Gomez and Morticia’s relationship is both unconventional and heartwarming.

Gomez telling Thing to take care of Wednesday in the new school shows his genuine worries for his daughter. Even when Wednesday was asked to attend a family therapy session, despite being hesitant he did not want to lose the opportunity to help out his daughter.

Though initially because of Tyler’s father, Gomez comes under suspicion of murder, however, when the truth about how he protected Morticia and eventually saved the students of Nevermore Academy from getting poisoned is one of the best moments of Gomez Addams. He has a great sense of humor and his nicknames of Wednesday are representative of his love for his daughter.


10)Tyler

Tyler is a controversial character on Wednesday, however, his contribution to the show cannot be denied. Until the very end, Tyler felt like a positive character with his behavior towards Wednesday and always being charming. However, when the truth about Tyler being Hyde comes out, it adds a layer to his character. He is a compelling character especially when we consider his contribution to Wednesday’s life.

Initially, he was the one that Wednesday seemed to lean into. From making a surprise cake delivery for Wednesday to taking her to the Rave’N, Tyler has not just charmed Wednesday but also the viewers. Whether Tyler’s character can be redeemed or not is up for debate, but one cannot deny that he is one of the most talked about characters on Wednesday.
