On March 18, 2025, popular streamer Imane "Pokimane" Anys shared a brief post on X (formerly Twitter):
"i wanna leave LA."
The one sentence was immediately picked up, with fans and fellow creators reacting in various ways. Some brushed it off, while others wondered why.
One response stood out among many:
"You are rich. Move."
Others posted tongue-in-cheek responses, such as @Valkyrae's response:
"WHAT DID ELLUM DO"
A few were concerned, with @TinaKitten even posting,
"oh god POKI I CAN CHANGE!! WE CAN CHANGE!! ????"
Although Pokimane did not explain why, the conversation in her post might suggest the difficulties of living in Los Angeles, particularly for content creators.
Pokimane has previously made career transitions, such as quitting Twitch and OfflineTV
Pokimane's comment regarding departing Los Angeles follows on from several other significant changes in her career. Earlier in 2024, she formally departed Twitch after a dozen years of streaming on the platform.
She characterized the move as the "end of an era." Although she did not cite reasons; it signaled a willingness to pursue new avenues. She also left OfflineTV, a content creation team she co-founded in 2017, in 2023.
She cited balancing content creation and her personal life as one of the reasons. She insisted, however; that her relationship with the team was still good and that the decision was for personal and professional development.
Talking about her exit from Twitch in an X post, dated January 31, 2024, she wrote,
"The end of an era.. twitch has been my home for over a decade..but its time to say thank you for all the memories and love during my League, Fortnite, & Among Us days"

People are speculating about where she might go next
Following Pokimane's post, fans were soon speculating where she would head. Austin, Texas, was a popular choice; as several other streamers have relocated there in recent years because of its lower cost of living and developing content creation economy. @Nmplol, a member of One True King wrote,
"You know where to go. Yee hawww Austin Texas."
Others named Florida as a potential destination as well, though some downplayed the possibility. Popular streamer xQc also expressed his views on Pokimane's cryptic tweet. In one livestream he said,
"Pokimane is going to Florida.' Sure? 'I really wanna get out of LA.' I don't think she will be going to Florida, though. Who cares, though?"
Meanwhile, @qtcinderalla, a YouTuber and streamer chimed in and wrote,
"If this b*tch doesn’t pull up to Utah rn I stg,"
Whether or not Pokimane was seriously considering relocating or just venting about Los Angeles is uncertain. But the responses demonstrate how interested her viewers are in her life and choices.
