Tyla graced the cover of the 2025 Nylon Music Issue. In an exclusive interview, the singer discussed her music career and future plans.

The Grammy winner boasts over 24 million monthly listeners on Spotify, ranking her 233rd among artists with the highest number of monthly listeners on the platform. Her music video for "Water" has garnered over 300 million views on YouTube, further enhancing her recognition.

The singer has been very open about experimenting with her songs. In the interview, when asked whether she is interested in rapping, Tyla responded,

"I’m excited to show people that I’m more diverse than they think. I want to take my time with my artistry and give whatever feels right for that moment. So one day, you’re going to get that Tyla rap song."

In an interview with Billboard, Tyla hinted at releasing a new album. Fans believe the singer might include a rap song in the upcoming project. However, the "Water" singer seems to be discussing her future music plans and hasn't confirmed anything yet.

Tyla shares her future plans and living her 20s

While Tyla has been making music for years, the 23-year-old has openly expressed her enjoyment of her 20s. The interview also disclosed her initial struggles and pressures during her growth. When asked about her current plans for her 20s and how she wants to navigate these years, she said,

"I don’t want to let that pass me by and not have that. Even though I’m this pop star, I don’t care. I don’t want to look back and be like, “Oh, I spent my 20s worried about @Susan12345 saying I’m mad.”

The singer mentioned that many of her fans or followers sometimes misunderstood her, which affected her and made her more cautious about her actions. However, she revealed that she no longer feels upset about it, as people now judge her based on who she truly is.

Tyla also expressed her desire to become the best artist version of herself one year from now by adding,

"I really want to be the best artist that I can be. When you have a lot of pressure, it makes you feel like you need to live up to what people expect. A year from now, I want to be making whatever I want to make, doing whatever I want to do — regardless of the pressures."

Alongside the Grammy, Tyla also won an award at the Billboard Women in Music Awards and the iHeartRadio Music Awards, which took place in 2025. The singer recently released a remix of her 2024 song, PUSH 2 START, featuring Sean Paul, which has received praise from her fans.
