John Robert Robertson, popularly known as Tectone, is a popular Twitch streamer. Born in El Paso, Texas, the Austin-based streamer was formerly a member of the OTK (One True King) streaming platform before he was removed following the expiration of his contract with the site. Tectone is now a member of the Twitch streaming platform with close to 950,000 followers.
On March 20, 2025, John's Twitch account was banned for the first time. @StreamerBan, the automated Twitch tracking page, reported the ban. Following the ban, Tectone's channel shows that it is offline and that it is a temporary ban.
As a temporary ban, it could last anywhere between at least 24 hours and at most two weeks.
Although no official announcement has been made concerning the reason behind his ban, speculations are rife that it was due to him watching the popular Korean animation Solo Leveling in a live stream, which violates Twitch's terms and services.
More details about Tectone's Twitch ban
Tectone has a reputation for being a huge anime enthusiast. In his Just Chatting category streams, he ranks several titles and frequently discusses anime. In fact, some of his most streamed videos come from the Just Chatting category, which involves an interactive section with his audience.
A viral clip of John watching Solo Leveling during his live stream has begun to circulate online. In the clip, the streamer watches the thirteenth episode of the series via Crunchyroll. It shows John reacting to scenes from the anime and giving his commentary live.
Fans have begun to speculate if his channel's temporary ban might be due to watching copyrighted material during a broadcast. It is important to note that no specific reason has been given yet, and the duration of the ban is still unknown.
Tectone is considered to be one of the most controversial streamers. Before he left the OTK platform, he was embroiled in a very significant controversy with fellow streamer and housemate Pinkchyu, who accused him of se*ual assault.
In November 2024, Pinkchyu alleged that Tectone was abusive and had a penchant for demanding se*ual favors,
"How are you supposed to feel if a guy is abusive and makes you cry then shoves your head on his crotch and demands you s**k him off and his excuse is 'emotion just turns me on when you cry.'"
She continued:
"Or when you ask that you don't feel comfortable doing something se*ual, and he records you and demands you stop making faces and pretend you like it."
John immediately denied the allegations shortly after the revelation. He insinuated that he might also take legal action. During this controversy, Tectone announced that he would not be continuing with OTK.
