Logan Paul and YouTuber Stephen Findeisen, “Coffeezilla,” are involved in a legal battle, and the latter has been sharing updates about the process with fans. Coffeezilla, a self-proclaimed Internet investigator, on August 6, 2024, revealed that Logan Paul was suing him for defamation.

The YouTube personality claimed that Logan was trying to “silence” him because he investigated the cryptoZoo project and called for a refund for its victims. For those who are unversed, CrytoZoo was a failed blockchain game co-founded by Logan Paul, which resulted in the latter being sued for millions by fans.

Amidst their ongoing legal drama, Logan Paul’s alleged text messages to a friend have been making the rounds online. YouTuber and lawyer LegalBytes discussed a legal document filed by the defendant, Coffeezilla, in court on April 25, 2025. The document revealed alleged text messages between Logan and a friend.

LegalBytes stated:

"These text messages were just revealed by Coffeezilla in a recent legal filing in the defamation case that Logan Paul filed against him for statements that Coffeezilla made about Paul's alleged CryptoZoo scam. Specifically, Coffeezilla is trying to have the case transferred from federal court in San Antonio to federal court in Austin, where the case can be more closely litigated with the class-action case filed by the alleged victims of the CryptoZoo fiasco. And the ultimate goal there is to potentially have these two cases consolidated."

The messages read:

"Paul: Lawyering up. Suing this mfker into the ground. Friend: Then everything will come out, court docs public. Paul: So everyone will see what happened for better or for worse. Friend: To let others know it is not worth coming at you. Friend: There is a price to pay. Paul: That's the idea. Paul: Need to shut it down. Friend: Public humiliation is always more affective. Paul: Totally agree. Paul: Just to make his life difficult. Paul: Zilla will pay, one way or another. Paul: I make sure of it. Friend: Bro, you're a billionaire. Paul: A petty billionaire. Paul: I want people who wronged me to suffer. Paul: While I continue getting wins on their grave."

More details on the defamation lawsuit instituted by Logan Paul against Coffeezilla

The issues between Logan and Coffeezilla can be traced back to early 2023, when the former threatened to sue the latter for making “libelous” remarks while investigating the failed CryptoZoo project. Logan Paul made good on his threats more than a year later and filed a defamation suit in June 2024.

In his suit, Logan claimed that:

"Findeisen “maliciously and repeatedly published false statements accusing Paul of operating a scam in connection with a troubled blockchain project called CryptoZoo.”

On February 17, 2025, counsel for Coffeezilla filed a motion to dismiss Logan's defamation suit, arguing that the “libelous statements” were not capable of defaming the plaintiff.

A Texas magistrate court on March 26, 2025, disagreed with the motion and moved forward with the defamation hearing on the basis that Findeisen’s use of the word “scam” could be regarded as defamatory and his role as a “crypto investigator” would convince an “objectively reasonable reader” to understand his statements as factual.

Neither Logan Paul nor Coffeezilla has commented on the alleged text messages sent by the former. Coffeezilla, meanwhile, has thanked fans for supporting him through his ongoing legal ordeal.
