Kanye West recently uploaded a tweet revealing three reasons why he was never allowed to perform at the Super Bowl. However, the rapper deleted the tweet afterward. The singer gave the following reasons in the tweet:

"George Bush don’t care about black people
The Taylor Swift movement moment
Wearing a MAGA hat"

The rapper further added,

"How it feel to be the best living and blocked from the main stage because of being ahead of my time (And I mean all of this before I went full Nazi of course)"

Kanye and Swift have a long history of public clashes, dating back to the 2009 MTV VMAs when Kanye interrupted Taylor’s acceptance speech by saying that Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time. Since then, they’ve had many ups and downs, with diss tracks and leaked recordings.

Kanye West and Taylor Swift's clashes explained

Taylor Swift was awarded the Best Female Video award at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. While Taylor, both surprised and happy, was delivering her acceptance speech by thanking her fans and the award show, Ye interrupted the singer by saying,

"Yo Taylor, I'm really happy for you. I'm going to let you finish, but Beyoncé has one of the best videos of all time."

The incident left Taylor and the audience stunned. Later, Kanye also stated that people called him rude for his actions. At the 2015 VMA, Taylor Swift presented the Video Vanguard Award to Kanye by saying,

"Kanye West's album College Dropout was the very first album my brother and I ever bought on iTunes when I was 12 years old. I have been a fan of his since I can remember. Because Kanye defines what it is to be a creative force."

She further gave the award to Kanye by adding,

"I'm really happy for you, and I'm going to let you finish. Kanye West has had one of the greatest careers of all time."

The drama ended there until Kanye mentioned Taylor in his song Famous by singing,

"I feel like me and Taylor might still have s*x, Why? I made that b*tch famous"

According to Kanye, the lyrics were approved by Taylor over a phone call. However, Taylor denied adding the b*tch part. Kim Kardashian later joined the drama by adding the Snapchat clips of the call, after which Taylor received a lot of backlash.

Taylor released the Reputation album, addressing the drama and shading both Kanye and his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, in many of the songs from the album. In 2020, a full recording of the call leaked, which proved that Taylor never agreed to the final words sung in the song Famous. Taylor also released thanK you, aIMee in her new album, The Tortured Poets Department, which fans suspected to be a diss at Kardashian.

At the 2025 Grammy Awards, Taylor was seen dancing to Kendrick's diss track against Drake, Not Like Us. A week later, Kanye West added a tweet on X saying,

"IF ITS ABOUT THE CULTURE … WHY ARE WE LETTING TAYLOR SWIFT BE SEEN ON TV SINGING A SONG ABOUT TAKING A BLACK MAN DOWN AND ACCUSING OF THINGS THAT CAN TAKE A BLACK MAN DOWN FOR LIFE"

According to Kanye, these Taylor Swift movement moments are one of the reasons why he is not allowed at the Super Bowl. However, the Super Bowl hasn't stated why they haven't invited Kanye as a performer as of now.
