Kim Kardashian and her children were recently seen in an episode of The Kardashians, which aired on April 3, 2025. In the episode, they were celebrating the 18th birthday of Tristan Thompson, the Canadian basketball player's younger brother, Amari Thompson.

Amari has Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, which is a severe form of epilepsy. In the episode, Kim makes a statement admitting that her kids aren't comfortable around a disabled family member, referring to Amari.

A video clip of Kim Kardashian making this statement is making the rounds on social media, and netizens have things to say about it. This is what one of them had to say:

''Why is this filmed for the world? It gets to a point!''- said @SleezePetty

Internet reacts to Kim Kardashian admitting her kids struggle around a disabled relative

In the episode of The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian interacts with the kids, asking them if they're a bit scared and telling them they don't have to be. She then admits that she loves her kids, but also wants them to grow around Amari and help him.

She also says that the kids sometimes have questions about Amari and that they might not be the most comfortable around him. These statements by Kim have sparked discussions online.

While some were supportive of Kim Kardashian teaching her kids empathy, some felt that the kids were used for the ratings of the show. This is what netizens had to say about it:

''Anyone can have a disability, you can get a brain injury later in life, become a quadriplegic. It could happen to you or a loved one. Kids learning empathy benefits society and the individual with a disability is valued just like everyone else.''- expressed (@gretchen1001)

A couple of netizens explained how the Kardashians are looking after Amari. Here is what they had to say:

''that’s tristan thompsons little brother that the family supports and takes care of after the passing of their mom. Khloe is very very much involved with his care and this is his second time maybe on the show.''- stated (@Miklaineee)
''You obviously don’t watch the show and don’t know the back story. He is rarely on the show, his mom died in 2022, and they (especially Khloe) has done a great job spreading awareness and taking care of him for years. They aren’t doing it for the views. Grow up''- commented (@_nolanford)

While these were some of the supportive comments, there were a few gloomy comments too. Here is what they had to say:

''So they're as*holes. Like every other kid their age.''- mentioned @luketinka
''Such spoiled brats, should be grateful that it isn’t them. You think that poor boy wants his life to be that way?''- pointed out @Highgroundvader

Tristan Thompson is the ex-partner of Khloé Kardashian, and they co-parent their two children, True and Tatum. After the passing of Tristan and Amari's mother, Amari has been under the legal guardianship of Tristan, and Khloé and her family have been actively spreading awareness and taking care of Amari.
