Beyoncé has been honored with a wax statue in Madame Tussauds Sydney Museum. Madame Tussauds has sculpted multiple wax figures of Queen Bey over the years, but this is the first time her statue will grace the Sydney Museum. On February 4, 2024, the statue was unveiled. It is modeled after the performer's 2013 Grammy look, in which she dressed in a metallic silver gown.

@PopBase on X shared an image of the wax figure with the caption:

"Madame Tussauds Sydney unveils new Beyoncé wax figure."

The post garnered numerous mixed reactions as several citizens took to the comments section to express their opinions on the statue.

@ASIASYMONE commented.

"Why can they never get her right??"

Similar comments were made as netizens believed the wax figure didn't look like Beyoncé.

"Why is it always an issue for them when it comes to black wax figures??? They can do EVERYBODY else perfectly but can never seem to get it right when it's a black figure … Ok." @mariahuyar_ commented.
"She's so gorgeous they can't recreate it lmao. It's a compliment at this point lol. Tina and Matthew created a 1 of 1. She's a top 5 celebrity face to me! That's a holy face!" @2Charmss_ replied.
"It's a complete mess like they know damn well they've done better wax figures and this wasn't it," @HazardMcqueen stated.

Other netizens believed the statue looked like other celebrities than Beyoncé herself.

"Im not even tryna be funny, I thought this was Maya Rudolph posing for another snl skit," @MORAVIXEN tweeted.
"This look like angel Reese a little bit," @IAMCXXNA commented.
"It gives me Angel Gisele Resse Knowles," @Dreamofju replied.

While some netizens didn't appreciate the wax figure and others didn't see any resemblance to the star, some loved the look and praised it.

"Why are the comments acting like this is a bad wax figure? I literally thought it was Beyoncé at first glance," @tayrialena stated.
"That wax figure looks stunning! Perfectly captures her iconic style. Can't wait to see it in person!" @uncensoredrene praised.
"She's such an icon, and it’s always exciting to see how they capture her stunning presence," @AzZaid tweeted.

More details on Beyoncé's new wax figure

Beyoncé's most recent wax figure was based on her Renaissance-themed 2023 Grammys look. The Cowboy Carter singer wore an asymmetrical metallic silver dress with ruffle detailing. She finished the look with black gloves and silver jewelry.

Madame Tussauds Sydney Museum released a press release revealing that the statue took nine months to complete and will be featured in the A-list zone, Illuminate Sydney.

"She's been at the top of the guest's request list, so we're excited to finally welcome the world's biggest superstar to Sydney. Her arrival transforms our Illuminate Sydney zone into the ultimate A-list party – after all, it's not really a party until Beyoncé arrives," a Madame Tussauds Sydney Museum executive, Georgia Hooper, explained.

Other celebrities who have wax figures in Sydney include Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, Priyanka Chopra, Bruce Willis, Chris Hemsworth, and Angelina Jolie.
