Michelle Trachtenberg was found dead in her New York apartment on February 26. The cause of her death is not yet known. However, the American actress recently underwent a liver transplant, which led to her declining health.
Throughout her career, she starred in big movies and series, including Ice Princess, The Gossip Girl, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She first starred in The Adventures of Pete & Pete at the age of three.
The actress shared a close bond with her elder sister, Irene Trachtenberg, and parents, Lana and Michael. Michelle's mother is Russian, and her father is from Germany.

Irene Trachtenberg, 47, is the late actress Michelle Trachtenberg's elder sister. They shared a special close bond. Michelle also used to share birthday wishes on Irene's birthday on her Instagram account.
However, in one post, she clearly mentioned that Irene likes to stay away from the spotlight by adding:
"Today is my sister's birthday. She does not enjoy me posting pictures of her 😈 but I would say her 🎂 wish is for everyone to wear a mask, be aware of their health, be considerate of everyone struggling, and to remember to love."
In an interview with Blackfilm, when asked, "Does the real you come out in your acting?" Michelle mentioned her sister by adding,
"The real me is sitting at home, no makeup, in my old sweatpants, watching DVDs. And no makeup is a big thing because I love makeup. So that's me. I'm there clicking on my Tivo watching Law And Order with my sister because I'm obsessed."

Severally, Michelle thanked her family for the support in her interviews and Instagram captions. However, Michelle rarely spoke about her father.
Once, in an interview, she was aked whether her mother is more like Joan or Kim, to which she responded:
"not like either mom at all actually. She is really proud of me, and is really happy that I'm doing something that I love and am most passionate about, but when I started acting, the first thing she said was: Great."
She continued:
"She's just always been there for me, and that's really important. Very supportive and of course now she's like - oh, I'm happy that you stuck with the acting thing. You're so pretty out there honey. She gets so excited. Like we just got Tivo and she put my name in and now she watches every single thing."
Michelle's mother, Lana, who is from Russia, helped her during the dialogues of the film Killing Kennedy. Other than acting, Michelle also loved cooking, as it gave her more time to spend with her sister, Irene, and mother, Lana.
The late actress won Breakthrough Performer for Beautiful Ohio at the 2007 Sarasota Film Festival. She also won Best Actress for Killing Kennedy at the Women's Image Network Awards in 2014.
