Marlon, during a Twitch stream on April 22, 2025, spoke about why he was wearing the eyepatch to his followers, as per Dexerto. He said,

“It’s been bad bro, to be honest. All trolling aside… I woke up one day and my eye was super, super red. I’m not one to go to the doctors, so I said, ‘Fu*k it, it’ll work itself out.’ That was my left eye.”

He then said that the red eye sort of went away on that day; however, when he woke up the next day, his right eye was affected, and it was all red. He then mentioned that he didn't understand what was going on, and because his eye was hurting so much and slowly closing, he couldn't stream that day.

He then went to the urgent care center, given the pain and redness he was suffering from. There, he explained to the doctors what's been going on with his eyes, and while explaining, he realized that he might have touched his eyes after using the Gorilla Glue a few days back. Marlon said:

"I explained to her how I think the gorilla glue from that day, now I am not saying this is anyone's, this is not anybody's fault. I think it's my fault when I was touching my eye when I probably should not have been touching my eye. And I told her that, and she was like, 'You got to get to the doctor real quickly.''

For context, Gorilla Glue is known for its super-strong nature and is used to hold materials like glass, metal, wood, and stone.

Marlon was then referred to emergency care, where he was warned that if the toxins from the glue had made their way to his eye tissues, he could go blind. Since he came to the hospital a little late, the doctors told him that they weren't sure if they would be able to save his vision. He explained all the details of the incident on his stream. He said,

“They’re just like, ‘For right now we’re gonna give you this, but, like, we genuinely don’t know if it’s gonna get better or not.’ They couldn’t tell, because it was that bad pretty much and it’s going, like, too far.''

He then shared what his days looked like. He said,

“That’s been my past two days. I haven’t been able to be on any social media—none of that.”

On April 23, he posted a picture of himself wearing the eyepatch and captioned it saying, ''God willing, it will pass.''
