Danny Fujikawa is Asian-American, and his grandfather, Dr. Yoshihiko Fujikawa, attended medical school in the US. In December 2012, Danny posted a picture of what appears to be his grandparent's wedding picture and captioned it "Ojisan and obachan."

His grandfather was one of the first Japanese Americans to attend a medical school in the US, and he paid the fees by working at a fruit stand.

Danny's father, Ron Fujikawa, was in a long relationship with actress and David Foster's ex-wife, Rebecca Dyer. Rebecca and David had three daughters together, Jordan, Erin, and Sara, who became stepsisters to Danny, although Ron and Rebecca never married.

According to Danny's LinkedIn profile, he studied at New York University from 2004 to 2006. He worked in the American indie rock band Chief in Los Angeles, California. In this band, Danny worked as a guitarist and a vocalist along with his brother Michael Fujikawa, who was the drummer for the band.

The band released their debut album, Modern Rituals, in 2010 before parting in 2011. Later, Danny founded Lightwave Records with Chris Acosta.

While Danny Fujikawa is a Gemini, Kate Hudson is an Aries. In an old interview with People Magazine, Kate shared a little about their zodiac compatibility. She said:

I'm an Aries. I have butterfly feet. I am just like, ‘OK, I have to go to. I have to be somewhere else other than this room.’ And Danny can sit in a room for 24 hours and not even know it's been 24 hours.''

She continued:
