DJ Khaled and Tekashi 6ix9ine recently got black coffins mysteriously delivered to their Florida homes; fueling widespread rumors. The creepy deliveries, by unknown people, included cryptic messages, such as names and symbols; which raised questions on whether they were threats, jokes, or otherwise.

Both cases, within days of each other, have attracted fans and the hip-hop world. Social media users responded instantly, with one saying,

"This was way too deep!!! it's never that serious"

and another making a joke,

"Nail in the coffin."

Others declared it to be too much, saying,

"That's wild!!!!! Wayyyyyy too far!"

Others suspected a publicity stunt, with one person commenting,

"Pretty sure it's a video coming up. Y'all ruin everything."

Some others dismissed it entirely, with one saying,

"Someone got too much time on their hands."

Among the numerous reactions, one stood out—

"What kind of voodoo is this?"

The mysteriousness of the coffins added to speculation about underlying meanings, and the phrase became the center of online controversy. Police have been informed, but no official comments have been issued.

Law enforcement experts have so far been notified but no public statement has been made on the origins or reasons behind the deliveries.

DJ Khaled’s security team removed a coffin delivered by unknown individuals

On February 15, 2025, DJ Khaled's Miami home was the scene of a bizarre event. Two men, clad as delivery staff, showed up in a van and made their way onto his gated estate. They left an open black coffin at the gate; which bore the words "RIP OVO" and "RIP Drake," in addition to an upside-down white cross.

In a final act, they kneeled in seeming prayer, a gesture that was recorded on CCTV cameras. DJ Khaled's security crew found the coffin soon after and had it immediately taken away. The event was reported to the local authorities; although there has been no report of an investigation.

The inscription of Drake's name on the coffin has spawned theories as to whether this was a message sent regarding industry animosity or internal feuds. DJ Khaled has not commented on the situation publicly; being his usual social media self without mentioning the occurrence.

Tekashi 6ix9ine’s home also received a similar coffin with cryptic messages

Two days before, on February 13, Tekashi 6ix9ine also went through a similar experience. An anonymously sent black coffin with "RIP King Von" and an upside-down white cross appeared at his Florida home. There was also a bouquet and a pet box with hand sanitizer.

A surveillance camera captured two men showing up in a Tesla, delivering the package, and then leaving without engaging further. Tekashi 6ix9ine's brother, who happened to be at the scene, called the authorities, and a bomb squad checked the coffin.

Nothing was discovered; either explosives or harmful substances. While DJ Khaled kept his coffin on site; 6ix9ine initially planned on keeping his, then changed his mind and had it taken out. He later spoke about what happened, but his explanation is unclear; so it is anyone's guess what happened or if this was an attack, a stunt, or something in between.

Social media users speculate about the meaning behind the coffin deliveries

After news about the deliveries of coffins, social media exploded in speculation and reactions. Several users were confused, with some questioning if the events were related to previous industry rivalry or current personal conflicts.

Others wondered whether the events were manipulated for publicity. The term "What kind of voodoo is this?" soon caught on as people argued over the meaning of the symbols and names on the coffins.

Some wrote off the deliveries as sophisticated hoaxes, while others expressed concern over possible safety warnings. The hip-hop world is still separated on whether the events were random acts or messages with a reason.

Law enforcement has been notified, but no investigation has been confirmed

Law enforcement authorities have been informed of both incidents, but to date; there is no indication of an ongoing investigation. Neither Tekashi 6ix9ine nor DJ Khaled has issued detailed statements commenting on the events.

There are no suspects named and no obvious reason for the coffin deliveries; so the matter remains unsolved. Whether or not these occasions are more significant than they appear or are a series of random events; they have caught the public's attention, and many questions remain unrequited.
