Timeline of Yella Beezy and MO3’s feud explored

As the duo rose to prominence in the Oak Cliff community of Dallas in the mid-2010s, there was alleged friction between the two rappers. XXL Magazine reports that their issues might have started because of a woman.

HypeFresh reports that their beef escalated when MO3’s close friend, comedian Roylee Pate, was shot and killed in October 2018 after he publicly dissed Yella Beezy and questioned his ties to the Oak Cliff community. MO3 released the diss track Let Me Find It and Slide On Em’ after Roylee Pate’s death, where he seemingly calls out his opposition and suggests that he is plotting revenge.

He doesn’t mention Yella Beezy directly, but multiple hip-hop observers and news sources have speculated that some of the lyrics were aimed at the latter.

The first verse of the song reads:

"Like two-o-clock, I got call my dog died, but I'm mournin’/,Declined the call 'cause I been plottin' all morning how I'ma smoke 'em/ Caught 'em lackin' at the club, I'm in motion, guess what I’m totin’?/ Every opp I got, they know to be active 'cause I ain’t goin (Yeah)."

Yella Beezy responded, denying rumors that he was involved in the incident with Roylee Pate and even denied feuding with MO3. In 2018, Beezy narrowly escaped a drive-by shooting incident that left his vehicle riddled with bullets.

In April 2019, in an interview with VladTV, MO3 stated that he had nothing to do with Beezy’s shooting incident. In July, Beezy was also invited as a guest on VladTV. He reiterated that he had no issues with MO3.

The rapper even added that he didn’t know who the latter was:

"I don't know him. I know everybody from my city making noise."

In February 2020, Yella Beezy reportedly got into an altercation with MO3’s manager, Brandon Rainwater, at a club. MO3 later called out Beezy and accused him of attacking his manager.

Things took a tragic turn when MO3 was shot and killed on Interstate 35 in Dallas. According to footage obtained by authorities, the late rapper was stopped on the highway; he alighted from the car and was pursued by an assailant in a mask who shot him and drove away.

A month later, Kewon Dontrell White was charged with MO3’s murder. In April 2021, Devin Maurice Brown was indicted for allegedly planning MO3’s murder attack.

Beezy was arrested in March 2025 for allegedly hiring White to assassinate MO3. The rapper’s bond was originally set at $2 million but was reduced to $750,000 following a bond reduction hearing on March 27, 2025.
