Word on the streets is that NBA YoungBoy has been released from Federal Prison, and according to 954 Fast Pitch TV on Instagram, the rapper’s family confirmed that he was back home. While this report hasn’t been confirmed by official sources or his legal representatives, fans and Netizens are happy to have him back.

Multiple Instagram users have commended his lawyers for getting him out earlier than expected. The Bandit crooner was sentenced in December 2024 to two years imprisonment after pleading guilty to two separate gun charges.

NBA YoungBoy entered a plea deal in September 2024 for an unlawful gun possession charge from 2021 and for possessing weapons during his arrest in Utah in 2024, pushing up his release date to July 27, 2025.

If the rumors are true, it would seem that the rapper’s lawyers negotiated a better deal, which is why he was released early.

More details on NBA YoungBoy’s legal issues

Kentrell Gaulden, professionally known as NBA YoungBoy or YoungBoy Never Broke Again, was sentenced in December 2024 as a result of Utah State charges against him and two federal charges.

According to the first charge, the rapper, while filming a music video, he was reportedly in illegal possession of a Glock 21, a Masterpiece Arms MPA30T 9mm handgun, a .45-caliber pistol, and other firearms. According to Newsweek, the 25-year-old rapper also admitted to having a Sig Sauer 9mm semiautomatic pistol at his Utah residence in April 2024.

The Federal charges against NBA YoungBoy carry a 23-month prison sentence, five years of probation, and a fine of $200,000. As part of the plea deal, the rapper reportedly admitted to the charges and agreed to relinquish all the weapons in his possession.

According to AP News, Youngboy pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree felony identity fraud, six counts of misdemeanor unlawful pharmacy conduct, and two counts of third-degree felony forgery in November 2024 in a prescription drug fraud case.

The rapper’s plea deal precluded him from serving prison time in Utah. His felony charges were reduced to Class A Misdemeanors, and he paid a $250,000 fine. The ruling judge, Spencer Walsh, agreed to forgo a prison sentence because of the unlawful gun possession case that was pending sentencing at the time.

The court also held in the prescription drug case ruling, that the rapper would be placed on five years of federal supervised probation, which would begin upon his release from prison.
