Former broadcaster and Internet personality Wendy Williams's health and assisted living has been making headlines. She has reportedly been under guardianship since 2022.
Wendy's healthcare advocate, Ginalisa Monterosso, told People Magazine that the former had previously accepted the court's order to be overseen by legal guardian Sabrina Morrissey. However, Ginalisa has now alleged that Wendy wasn't "aware" that all her "rights would be taken away." She added,
"Somebody in prison has more rights than a person put under a guardianship."
According to the Hot New HipHop, Wendy is currently living in a "high-end assisted living facility." In her appearance on The Breakfast Club in January 2025, Wendy denied the claims of being "cognitively impaired" and described her living facility as a "luxury prison."
While it is unclear if Wendy Williams' guardianship will come to an end, the media personality has increasingly received support from her fans, friends, and family.

Wendy Williams fights to end guardianship as fan support grows
In March, Wendy Williams reportedly requested assistance from paparazzi through a handwritten note asking for "help," which subsequently prompted many fans to share her support for her.
Many, including the executive producer, Suzzane Bass, of her show, The Wendy Williams Show, came down to her building. In a video uploaded by Extra TV on their YouTube channel, Wendy can be seen smiling and waving towards her fans and Suzzane from her window.
Fans could be seen shouting and holding "FREE WENDY" slogans, with Wendy encouraging them with a heart sign and a "Free Wendy" t-shirt. According to Extra TV, fans also visited Hollywood's Hall Of Fame with their placards as a sign of protest against Wendy's guardianship.
Wendy Wiliams had previously explained on The Breakfast Club that she has everything that allows her to survive and is provided in her room. However, she added that the facility has multiple restrictions, including usage of mobile phones and visitors.
Williams has reportedly planned her comeback if her guardianship comes to an end. In other news, Wendy has reportedly enlisted Joe Tacopina, who had previously worked with A$AP Rocky, in her conservatorship battle.
Many fans believe that Wendy's struggles against court-ordered guardianship are akin to Britney Spear's experience in 2021. While it is unclear if Wendy Williams' guardianship will come to an end, official news from authorities has yet to be announced.
Wendy's friends and fans continue to shower support for the ex-broadcaster. While Wendy's guardianship was reportedly aligned with her health condition, she has denied that she is incapable of managing her life without assistance.
