American rapper Young Scooter, also known as Kenneth Bailey, died on March 28 on his 39th birthday after police showed up at his Atlanta residence after a 911 call.
The call was made by a woman who claimed to see a naked woman being dragged out of a house on William Nye Drive. According to the woman on the call, the woman was beaten and bleeding from her head. Moreover, the lady also made statements about the possible drug fight, a kid being in danger, and gun shooting.
However, police didn't find any of that upon arriving, which made the call suspicious. Upon knocking on the door, two guys tried to flee, including Young Scooter. Scooter tried jumping a fence in order to escape and cut his leg. Although police helped to rush him to the hospital, Scooter didn't make it, which led to his death.
According to police, this is likely to be a case of swatting, and Young Scooter became a victim of it. As of now, police are investigating the case to find out who the caller was and the reason behind the fake call.
Atlanta police explain the situation that led to Young Scooter's death

After the death of Young Scooter, Atlanta Police held a press conference where they explained the situation by adding,
"There was a 911 call of a dispute with shots fired and a female being dragged back into the residence. When officers arrived, a male initially opened the door and closed the door on the officer's face without communicating completely. That's when the officers established a perimeter, and the two males fled."
On being asked about the rapper's wound and if he got shot, the officer added,
"There was no indication of anyone being shot. This appears to be that there was, when he fell, some type of fracture or injuries to the leg, which caused the bleeding."
According to the police, the wound led to the death of the rapper.
On being asked about the woman and if they were able to find the one the caller talked about, the officer said,
"We were not able to locate a female. We ended up with two males and the decedent."
The official cause of Scooter’s death is still under examination by the Fulton County Medical Examiner. At the same time, officers are still investigating the case to know more details about the call.
Authorities remain puzzled over why the rapper fled and who placed the fake 911 call. While the answers are still unclear, officials are working to find out why the swatting call was made in the first place.
