Azealia Banks and J.K. Rowling are currently embroiled in a heated online feud primarily centered around issues of transgender rights.

The feud ignited on March 16, 2025, when the singer tweeted a quote from an account that praised Rowling's achievements, adding her own commentary. Banks tweeted a provocative statement suggesting that Rowling's focus on criticizing transgender individuals might stem from personal grievances related to her first husband.

Banks has now intensified her feud with J.K. Rowling, responding to Rowling's earlier comment about domestic abuse with a fiery comeback. She took to X on March 18, 2025, and wrote.

“I been had likes f*ck is u saying sis. Im AZEALIA BANKS. THE AZEALIA BANKS. Know what time it is n don’t play yourself old b*tch this is MY internet you’re on.”

The fight began on March 16, 2025 when an X account praised J.K. Rowling for her courage and achievement, celebrating her success as one of the most-loved authors.

An X account which goes by the username @ImtiazMadmood, who claims to be an atheist, and a freethinker, acknowledged her status as a significant cultural figure.

Azealia Banks, who is well-known for her online behavior and feuds with celebrities, interjected the tweet by adding her critical commentary. She wrote:

“Maybe her husband at 27 cheated on her with a Trannylicious diva and that’s why she’s dedicated every waking moment to making sure her life’s legacy is dedicated to harassing people who make up less than 1% of the global population,” Banks wrote.

This is not the first time Banks has aimed at the Harry Potter author. In February, she slammed her, questioning her obsession with talking about the trans community, reported Billboard.

"No shade @jk_rowling thanks for the follow and I love you down sis, but [trans women] are not a threat to your femininity," she wrote at the time. "You are really too rich and legendary to keep spewing the same stuff over and over and over." The 33-year-old said.

Rowling, however, did not stay silent and replied back by reflecting to her past history of domestic abuse, reinforcing the seriousness of the matter. She then took the opportunity to criticize Banks, and said:

“It’s a matter of public record that my first husband beat me up, but you got the likes, Azealia, and I hope they were worth it.”

Her response suggested that Banks is interested in prioritizing her online popularity over meaningful discourse and reignited the debate with her.
