Ai Mogami, a Japanese live streamer and voice actor, was attacked on March 11 while broadcasting live in Shinjuku, Tokyo. The attacker stabbed the voice actor multiple times on a street in Takadanobaba.
After the incident, many of her fans heard police sirens in the background of her livestream. The suspect was soon arrested and the victim was sent to the hospital, where she took her last breath.
The incident took place around 10 a.m. when the attacker attacked the voice actor with a knife. The witnesses at the scene claimed the man (the attacker) to be in his 40s. After he was caught, he confessed to the crime and revealed that he knew the victim, blaming a personal conflict for the attack. However, police have yet to find the actual motive behind the violence.

A user, @WitchesEnvy, added:
"This happening after what just happened to emiru Rae and cinna recently is just f*cking chilling"
Another user, @AUTTENBURGH, tweeted:
"Yet another young one gone from this world, all because a psycho stalker wanted a connection, horrible. Think just on this alone. Many Japanese streamers doing IRL content might just stop already. Otherwise. They get actual bodyguards for it."
Another user, @Sk8GeorgeX, wrote:
"The streaming world is a dangerous place"
Many users on social media mistook the attacked voice actor for a talent from Kaleidoscope Inc. However, her agency later confirmed the news of her being safe by saying,
"We would like to express our deepest condolences to the victim of this incident. At the same time, we have confirmed the safety of Ai Mogami and would like to clarify that the individual involved is not affiliated with our company."
Ai Mogami was in her 20s when she got attacked. It is suspected that the attacker was a viewer who became upset after she blocked him and, in his frustration, resorted to violence. The victim's family hasn't given any statement on the matter yet.
