"There isn't really any better way to reduce anxieties": Nanashi Mumei opens up about health struggles as the VTuber announces Hololive graduation

Hololive star and English-speaking YouTuber Nanashi Mumei took to her channel on March 27, 2025, to share an "important announcement" with her followers. In an eight-minute clip, the VTuber revealed that she will be leaving Hololive on April 28, 2025. Mumei greeted her fans, expressed gratitude for their support, and noted:

"There isn't really any better way to reduce anxieties."

Nanashi Mumei went on to apologize to her fans for the "worry" she may have caused them. She confirmed her "graduation" from Hololive and explained the reasons as:

"internal misalignments with the company and chronic health issues affecting my ability to use my voice over the last two years."

She revealed that she had made "great resolutions" to continue working, but, "ultimately," graduation made the "most sense" for her. She elaborated on her health struggles, adding that her "frustrations and anxieties" had reduced her overall engagement.

Nanashi Mumei confirms her graduation from Hololive English on April 28, 2025

Hololive Production took to X to officially announce Nanashi Mumei's departure from the organization. The creator debuted as part of Hololive English - Council in August 2021. The announcement noted that Mumei had a significant impact on "the lives of many fans" and was a major contributor. At the time of writing, Nanashi Mumei has 1.13 million subscribers on YouTube. The organization wished Mumei "the best" and expressed their gratitude.

In her YouTube stream, Nanashi Mumei revealed her love for "performing and singing on stage" and admitted that she was "heartbroken" upon realizing she may be unable to "accomplish in that area." She ended her stream on a positive note, requesting her fans to stay "positive" and to not feel negatively toward her "team."

Fans took to Nanashi's X (@nanashimumei_en) post about the YouTube announcement, with many expressing gratitude for her work. One user (@tanigox) wrote,

"Mumei, thank you for all of your hard work. I appreciate what you have done, and wish you the best moving forward!"

Another fan (@sakuramiko35) added,

"I love your art and songs! Thank you, Mumei. I wish I could have spent more time with you. i love you."

Another fan (@amanekanatach) wrote,

"I somehow believed that you would always be here, and I kept thinking that one day we would talk a lot. I regret that everything came too late. I always loved your voice."

Nanashi Mumei took to her YouTube channel to bid an emotional yet heartfelt goodbye to her followers. In her live stream, she apologized multiple times and expressed regret for not being able to stream more for her fans. She noted that her health condition, including "chronic coughing," had affected her ability to perform. Fans expressed their best wishes and empathy regarding her mental and physical health.
