The Houston rapper, Sauce Walka recently sat down for an interview with Boxedin where he spoke about the shooting incident that happened with him and his artist Sayso P.
On March 22, 2025, Sauce and Sayso were shot in Memphis in broad daylight. The shooting incident left Sauce injured and killed his artist. Expressing the grief he feels for the loss of Sayso, Sauce, in the interview said that although he has 400-500 men ready to take revenge, he won't be taking that route. A snippet of the video was posted by NO Jumper on X (formerly Twitter). He said:
''I got 500 men ready, but I aināt sending nobody....I can't retaliate because that's not righteous.''
Sauce Walka declares no retaliation for Sayso's death
The shooting incident that occurred in Memphis, left Sauce Walka injured in the leg and Sayso P succumbed to his injuries. Sayso was an artist for Sauce's record label, The Sauce Factory, and also his dear friend.
In the March 28 interview on YouTube, Sauce expressed the grief he feels after Sayso's passing and he also speaks about how he doesn't plan revenge.
In the video, Walka speaks about how he feels it is dangerous to be a rapper. He says that being a black American, and a successful rapper, he has always watched and every move he makes is monitored.
He then went on to announce that despite the pain and grief he felt, and even though he had the manpower and the influence to get people to act, he wouldn't be retaliating. He further added that he thinks that would not be the right thing to do and he wants the justice system to do its job.
Following the death of Sayso, Sauce Walka penned an emotional post on Instagram. In the post, he wrote:
"Words or tears canāt explain the loss I feel! Splatt I wish your fat ahh listened to me and stayed in the room. I told u we could smoke that blunt after security and the rest of our familia pull up.."
Expressing the bond they shared, he said:
''Its been 4 years since @tsf1punch_10100 brought u to the familia did everythingi could to help u change ur lifestyle from miami to all 50 states we been mashing and splashing together š æļø.. I learned a lot from u young spilla and I thankful for all the loyalty and support city to city hood to hood wit them sticks RAP HUSTLING"
The Memphis Police Department issued a warrant against Jayden Dandridge, whom they have charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.
As per Fox 13, TMZ also released a video of the shooting in which two men are seen getting out of a white car and going up to Sauce and Sayso. They then fire gunshots, Sayso falls on the ground and Sauce manages to run away.
