Popular Twitch and Kick streamer xQc is embroiled in a public feud with music producer Metro Boomin. This feud began following the highly anticipated release of Playboi Carti's new album, I Am Music, on Friday, March 14, 2025.

xQc started the controversy when he gave the new album a low and scathing review, ranking it a dismal 2.3/10. American record producer Metro Boomin, who was involved with the album's production, didn't find the review funny.

The two engaged in a bit of back and forth, with the Twitch streamer's latest reply to the producer being:

"Metro shut yo h*e a*s up and make some drums."

Let's explore the events that led to the feud below.

More details on the xQc and Metro Boomin feud

After a long wait from fans, Playboi Carti finally released his third studio album, I Am Music, which contains 30 tracks. The album featured numerous artists, including Future, The Weeknd, Travis Scott, Skepta, Young Thug, Ty Dolla $ign, and Kendrick Lamar, to mention a few.

Not long after the album was released, xQc, who is known to be a Drake fan and someone who is quite particular about his music, decided to share his review of it. Felix gave a scathing review and labeled the album unimpressive.

"It's repetitive, it's oversaturated, it's uninspired, it's a copy of a whole lot of Reds, overloaded with full of edgy metallic sounds and bullsh*t ad-libs and fake lyrics that mix with the ad-libs make you think, 'Wait, was that a lyric, was it an ad-lib, was that onomatopoeia?' It's probably all at the same time."

He continued, throwing digs at Playboi Carti's fans:

"This is sh*t. This is actual sh*t. (After listening to another track) I'm done. I'm over it. I don't give a f*k. Yeah, Carti fans are dogsh*t. I don't care. Everything is half a*, it's insane."

Unsurprisingly, Playboi Carti's loyal followers took offense to his review and clapped back at the streamer.

One of Playboi Carti's fans, @CardoGotWings on X, took to his account to dismiss xQc's opinion on the album.

"I could give a sh*t who xQc is or his review on "rap" music. STFU."

Metro Boomin took a liking to this tweet and replied, stating:

"Lol he's a f**kin loser."

Metro's response naturally caused a stir among users. However, xQc shot back with a response of his own. xQc mocked Boomin with a meme of Drake, with whom the producer has a strained relationship.

The xQc and Metro Boomin's exchange has led to a heated debate among netizens. Some defended the streamer, saying he has the right to share his review. Others, however, sided with Playboi Carti's fans and Metro Boomin in criticizing the streamer for his harsh review.

Felix wasn't the only streamer to give the album a low review; fellow streamer Nico "Sneako" also didn't find it impressive. However, Kai Cenat has publicized his love for the album, giving it a high rating of 8 to 9 out of 10.
