Sauce Walka and Sayso P’s shooting suspect Jayden Dandridge reportedly found dead in Houston

Jayden Dandridge, a key person of interest in the investigation of the shooting accident that happened in Memphis on March 22, has been found dead in Houston.

The 21-year-old was identified as one of the suspects in the shooting that killed one and left another injured. The Memphis Police Department announced Jayden Dandridge's death via its Facebook page. They also had his arrest warrant withdrawn. At the time of writing this article, no additional information has been provided on the cause or reason for Dandridge's death.

Investigations have turned to the second suspect, who is identified as Kevin Brown. The 22-year-old has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, using a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and theft of property within the range of $10,000 to $60,000.

The police have announced a $6000 reward for anyone with a clue or tip about the wanted suspect.

On March 22, 2025, a shooting incident happened outside the Westin Hotel on Lt. George W. Lee Avenue, near the FedEx Forum in downtown Memphis, which claimed the life of rapper Sayso P and injured Sauce Walka. The Houston-based rapper was hit in the leg, but when the police arrived, Sayso P was declared dead on the spot.

Surveillance videos near the scene captured Jayden Dandridge coming out of a white car before opening fire on the duo. Before his death, Jayden Dandridge was placed under a $6000 bounty as the police needed any information that could lead to his arrest.

Before he was found dead, the 21-year-old Jayden Dandridge faced several charges, including the use of a firearm in a felony and grand theft auto. Other charges against him were first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.

Police investigations revealed that Jayden Dandridge first got out of the backseat of a white car holding an object in one hand and a backpack in the other. He was accompanied by an unknown man wearing dark clothing with his face covered to conceal his identity.

The 27-year-old Lectoran Hunt, popularly known as Sayso P, was confirmed dead upon police arrival, while Sause Walker was rushed to the hospital to treat a nonfatal gunshot wound on his leg.

MPD said in a statement:

“We want to assure our community and visitors that downtown Memphis is a safe place. This incident was not a random act of violence. Early indications are that the victims and suspects are known to each other.”

They continued:

“We understand the public’s concern and reiterate that this was not a random act. MPD is committed to bringing those responsible to justice and will be utilizing downtown camera footage and other technology available to aid in identifying everyone involved."

On Tuesday, March 25, Sause Walka took to his Instagram to share an update about the incident.

“Everything in Memphis @sayso___p wanted me to do with him. I stayed 3 days after we lost you to complete your wishes,” he says, detailing what he is going to do to honor the late rapper.

“Errthing u had planned for me I stayed and completed the mission no matter what’s the risk I had to complete the mission for u,” he added.

Sauce Walka urged his followers and fans to refrain from violence.
